I don't see why. It's got some excellent games. It's also laid the groundwork for a decent internet service, which will no doubt be imitated next generation by all the console manufacturers.
I just happen to much prefer Nintendo games, and so I only own a Gamecube (and N64, and SNES, and NES and.... etc).
I know you're new here, but we have a little rule - never make a bold, sweeping statement without backing it up with reasons. ;D

Thank you ;D
I've only just started to miss Rare's input... mainly because Nintendo haven't replaced them with anything worthwhile. I miss my platformers and adventure games.
And yes, it seems to have stolen many N64 gamers... but that's also slightly Nintendo's fault. If I wasn't such a diehard Nintendo nut I'd have probably gone for an X-Box (once it had become established) as well.

I honestly don't miss Rare one bit. I should admit, however, that I wasn't a big fan of the DKC games.

Rare slipped during the Xbox, but I feel that with the Xbox360 they may just pick up their game... I could be wrong, but it seems that a lot of their stuff is on its way now...
While they did make the N64 quite a cool console to own, I don't miss them - I was eager to get a Conker remake, but it didn't turn out to be anything awesome in the end anyway, just an updated remake.
I think developers like Retro Studios have done a good job of giving GCN owners some new and impressive stuff, so it all turned out OK I think...

Yeah, but Retro would have made there games whether Nintendo still owned Rare or not (if I'm not mistaken)... what has Nintendo done with first or second parties since losing Rare (Particularly, what have they done with the money earned from that)? It doesn't seem like alot (if anything) to me.
