Yes, it was meant to have the 's', I tells you. I think they will go for a Rev control that can do play NES/SNES and N64 games, but I guess if they can't think of a way to combine this 'new' controller and the 'old-style' controller, they could just use the GCN ones for that. Not an ideal solution, but a solution none the less. I've seen the two part controls (through other fake -- or posssibly real -- Rev pictures on the internet) , I wouldn't mind it to be honest. I don't doubt Nintendo will come up with something that is very interesting - whether it will be 'revolutionary' or 'better than the old kind' is what I'm not sure of. But I don't doubt I WONT[/b] accept it at first, because, quite simply, it looks like it will be the type of thing you real have to try to know how it feels - I can't rely on any gaming journalist to tell me whether or not playing with a controller with [feature] seems right to me or not. So, unfortuanely, I wont be able to fully accept it until I get to try it... which, if the rumours are correct, wont be until more than a year after it is shown. Viva la Revolution!

I don't doubt for a second that you're in the majority. It will be openly criticized until it's in the hands of players. Shame that.
I'm glad the PS3's controller got slagged off too, as there's no reason why the uncomfortable Dual Shock controls have been so widely accepted. They're uncomfortable to use, and they're so plasticky they creak as you play. Blah.

The PS2 controllers aren't too bad, but the PS3-boomerang is the ugliest looking, most likely worst feeling controller ever. Ugh. Yuck.

It's supposed to be two pieces, and it's showing both sides of them. So you hold the handles and press the buttons without the two pieces actually being combined - thumb on one side with the control stick, and fingers on the other side with the buttons.
Would have been cool if it was real (which it isn't!)

Me and my brother have been joking that it is going to be two gloves that you wear on your hands.
(I still say they should bring out Duck Hunt on the Gameboy with a tiny Zapper attachment.)

See, I think Duck Hunt would work on the DS. You can tap on the screen to shoot.

Anyway, glad Andronicus is there alongside me with open arms. I will truly be disappointed if there isn't some kind of Revolutionary controller at the end of it. I had open arms, too. =( Nintendo has to do something at least a little different with the controller. After not showing it at E3 people would really make fun of them if the Revolution controller is exactly like the Gamecube.

Something I was thinking of after I posted - wouldn't Nintendo be hoping people don't understand it? It seems ridiculous, but if the controller really is something unbeleivably different, shouldn't it be so weird that we can't imagine it? If it was a gyro-sensor (and nothing else - I personally beleive it will have a gyro sensor, but it will have something more 'revolutionary'), for example, you know how it works, you've seen games that use it, etc, etc. But if its Nintendo's new creation, the superawesomeowhatjamajiggeritron, and nobody can even imagine how it will work, wont that be much more 'revolutionary'? Of course, more weird or 'revolutionary' doesn't necessarily mean good, but I'm thinking Nintendo's new thing will be so weird you'll look back and go "jeez, and we just thought it would be a 2-part controller - how wrong were we?". I dunno, really. Just a thought. Opinions? Comments? Death threats?

I think I agree with you there DIU - we need something that is REALLY different - so much so that nobody could conceivably see it coming...
We'll more than likely know within the next... say... 4-5 months... ;D

Any Japanese readers? ;D I can make out the word "Gyroscope" and that's it. I can also read "Pad" and "Button" Well the post is filled with Kanjis... May I ask, did YOU scan this, Fry? Or did you just adopt this from other sites? I ask this because I think this is fake, based on the followings: - From the top-left corner, do you see a little thin white line on it? Awww, an evidence fot this may be copy-and-pasted.
- A directional pad on the RIGHT? Unbelievable! Only Virtual Boy had done that... But then, the DS is designed in a similar way.
- There are especially a lot of Kanjis found, where normally a paragraph should have 60% made of Hiraganas, 30% Kanjis and 10% Katakanas.
- The spacing of the paragraph is strange! I'm sure that the computer used for making this thing isn't using a proper Japanese encoding and font.
- As a Chinese, I should have been able to read, at least barely some, Kanjis. but I can't! Some of the Kanjis make sence to ME (those middle size red words above each figure), but the rest don't.
Boy, I'm approximately 99.999999.....% sure that this is a fake. EDIT: Oops, you guys know it already??? Anyway, I gonna say that I don't like the dual-hand thing. Simply because When I'm holding such a thing, I won't feel like if I'm holding a controller.

But remember, the controller has to be able to play NES, SNES and N64 games comfortably. How will THAT work!? Couldn't they just use a tweaked GC controller and include the abillity to modify the controls according to which game is being played?

Good point, but don't think so. Is it a good thing to issue the Rev with NES, SNES and N64 style controller bundled in? Fine with the first two, but a N64 one could be too big if it looks like the original one.

I think DiU is right about people not understanding the controller. We more than likely WILL look back and go "wow, we were so naive"... and then in another couple of years we will have forgotten it was ever a revolution as it'll be commonplace.
If Nintendo is really afraid of people nicking it, then it will undoubtedly be nicked for the purposes of gameplay on other systems too.
