I don't think there'll be anything on the 13th, Fryguy. I mean, sure, they'll release some 20th anniversary products, and everyone will dance in the streets of Tokyo, or something like that.
But, I think any news that MIGHT come our way would have to wait until the 16th, when Nintendo president Satoru Iwata makes that little keynote presentation thingy we've all had our expectations built up for... largely by sites like IGN...
16th will hopefully provide us with a glimpse of the controller, but I AT LEAST want to see some sort of new Mario video... I mean, COME ON NINTENDO!
Please?...
;D

16th... that's what I meant. I've been out of the loop for too long

Actually, I think it would be quite clever to release a single shot of Mario 128 on the 13th (perhaps make it blurry or obscure) to both accknowledge Mario's future (whilst celebrating his past) and to get some hype going for the 16th. That is assuming, of course, that Nintendo are doing something on the 16th.

After all, I love OoT, MM, TWW and no doubt will love TP - but how many more Zelda games can be developed in that style before they lose all originality. A lot more than the Mario Party series that's for sure!!

The Zelda series is AWESOME, yes, but why let it ever get stale? It should undergo a "rennovation" every now and then to bring something new-ish to the table. As long as it's not a gimmick (like FLUDD... )... ;D

Yeah, but couldn't you argue that Epona was a "Gimmick"?

You could. But the OoT was so different to LttP in enough ways to call it a true evolution on the series - just like SM64 was to the Mario series.
SMS felt a lot like SM64 with mud and a water bottle... it was a great game, but it was just a slight tweaking of the gameplay. Like the time travel and wind control were more just little extra things to the 3D Zelda formula that OoT lay down.
So, I guess I'm saying that I hope that the next Mario and the next Zelda (after TP) really take their respective franchises to new heights, allowing us to see the different universes and experience them in ways that haven't been possible as of yet... Something along those lines...
But, yes. Epona could be argued to be a "gimmick". ;D

They should do a swap - give Link FLUDD and let Mario turn into a wolf. I'm sure people would love that, right?

Naaah... Mario's more of a... well, not quite a bear, perhaps a smaller version... a raccoon?

That's appropriate. He's turned into a raccoon in SMB3 and Link's Awakening, so why not?
Now I want to see Link have a FLUDD tool in Twilight Princess...

And for an original plotline... How about Ganon and his son (Ganon Jr. - not to be mistaken for Baby Ganon from "The Legend of Zelda: Epona's Island") have interrupted Link's holiday on the tropical "Koholint Island" where Shadow Link has covered everything in multi-coloured mud. It's up to you, Link, to stop this imposter, clear your name, and clean up the island. Hilarious plotlines ensue when Ganon Jr. mistakenly believes that Princess Zelda is his mother! Why, the game ought to be called "The Legend of Zelda: Sunshine Princess" or something as unprecedeted as that. FLUDD would fit in perfectly...

Sunshine Princess sounds more upbeat that Twilight Princess.

That is the worst plot I've heard for a video game ever.
