I would like it if:
-Nintendo stopped putting eyes on EVERYTHING in Mario games. -they made a non-shooter Metroid platform game (sort of in the same style as Mario 64 and Zelda OoT/MM/WW.) -fights against Whispy Woods (Kirby) weren't always the same easy and monotonous boss battle. -they made more Starfox games where he STAYED in his Arwing. -made an action game with Waluigi (SUPER WARIO BROS!!!) -the next Mario game wasn't like Sunshine or 64 where you must keep reentering the world for the shine/star. It'd be cool if it was more like Ocarina of Time where you get to do some wide-range exploring.

Nintendo stopped putting eyes on EVERYTHING in Mario games. Really? I still think Mario should have a waide range of games.
they made a non-shooter Metroid platform game (sort of in the same style as Mario 64 and Zelda OoT/MM/WW.) Maybe it's just me, but I am against non-traditional Metroid/Zelda/Golden Sun/..... games.
fights against Whispy Woods (Kirby) weren't always the same easy and monotonous boss battle. And then? The method of fighting (insert any Kirby boss here) is the same in different games!
they made more Starfox games where he STAYED in his Arwing. Maybe Nintendo should make a game where you stay in the Great Fox.
made an action game with Waluigi (SUPER WARIO BROS!!!) And non-spinoff game with Waluigi is good enough to celebrate.
the next Mario game wasn't like Sunshine or 64 where you must keep reentering the world for the shine/star. It'd be cool if it was more like Ocarina of Time where you get to do some wide-range exploring. I prefer where you play 3D Mario stage-by-stage. This classic should be retained, and I don't really like the idea of a "portal" leading to stages much.

That's what Metroid IS. -I always like Wispy Woods the way he is. Though he had an interesting twist in KDL3, which was cool... but I hated him in Kirby 64. -I agree with that whole-heartedly. Though Assault wasn't that bad... -Yes. Waluigi should have been in Wario World, even if it was just as a helper of some kind. -Again... that's Mario. If you change it to be more like Zelda, then it becomes Zelda. Then why not just play Zelda instead?

Picture this scene in your mind, as if it were the next Mario game: Mario just finished saving somebody (I don't know who, Princess Peach perhaps), and foiled Bowser's plan. Once it seems as though everything is calm, a massive Doomship breaks out from underground. Mario grabs a feather, and aquires the yellow-cape ability. He runs, jump, and launches himself into the sky, a dog-fight against the flying ship. Cannons blow fire, paratroopas and winged goombas are sent to take you down. Mario launches fireballs at the enemies, bringing each individual to their defeat (assume you can fly and shoot fire in this new game). Mario manages to get on deck of the soaring ship, and the Seven Koopa Kids battle you to defend their father. Mario rolls, jump, and uses all of his skill to bring the seven foes down. In an attempt to knock our hero out, Bowser Jr., shoots a burst of flame in Mario's direction, but it misses and burns the mast of the ship down, eventually putting the whole ship on fire. In a race against time, Mario chases Bowser Jr., who retreats to his father. Mario chases Bowser Jr. through the maze-like ship, only to find Bowser ready to leave the burning ship in his Koopa Clown Car. A fight between the two rivals begins, with Bowser Jr. making the job harder for you by aiding his father. I picture this scene just like Ocarina of Time. In Oot, each chapter ties separate plots together, strenthening the story line. In Mario 64/Sunshine, each mission makes no contribution to the game's story. It's all the same, get the star/shine in the level you're on to move further into the castle/ Island Delfino. We've all seen the different worlds and scenes in Mario. I'd love to see Downtown Mushroom Kingdom (from MK: DD) as a place to explore. It might even be neat if in this new Mario game, every foe Mario ever faced was in the game. Imagine fighting Donkey Kong, Wart, Tatanga, Wario (alongside Waluigi perhaps), the Seven Koopa Kids, and of course, Bowser. All Mario RPGs seem to be in the same format I hope the next Mario game to be in. But hey, this is just MY opinion. If you disagree, it's alright. Share your opinions about changes YOU'D like Nintendo to make. I made this thread so that I could hear your opinions too.

There sno reason that this can't happen with the MK64 / SMS hub-world system though. Its a fantastic idea, just you don't need Zelda / Metroid style worlds to do it.

Nintendo should lay off making mario spin-off titles and focus on making PROPER mario games. Since the GC's lauch there have only been 2 proper mario games(PM:TTYD and SMS) on it, whilst making endless spin-offs(Mario Party series, various sports titles and a DDR-clone)!!
Also, they should stop Namco fom making any more Star Fox games.

I hate that "too many spinoffs" comment, since the only spinoff EAD (who makes the traditional Mario games) make is Mario Kart. And if you are suggesting getting rid of Mario Kart then you are a bigger fool than I realised.
And why is Paper Mario a 'proper' Mario game?

I don't mind the Mario Kart series, it's just the other spin-off games that really tick me off. Oh and Paper Mario is a 'proper' mario game because it actually has a ongoing plot that is referred to continually rather than once at the beginning, and it follows the classic mario formula (stomp on baddies, jump on a few platforms, collect various powerups, defeat some kind of boss etc..)

But the other spin-offs have no affect on EAD making Mario games.
And would you prefer it if all the companies making sports spinoffs made 'true' Mario games? I wouldn't, as I doubt they could get them to be as high quality as EAD themselves, so I'm much happier having AAA Grade Mario platformers, and some really fun spinoffs, then I would be having an AAA Grade Mario platformer surrounded by B Grade ones.

--Regularly revive dead franchises (Metroid was great, let's see some more lovin') --Bring the Club Nintendo rewards stateside. C'mon. Those guys in Japan not only get a TV remote that looks like a Rev controller, but they get gold plated Mario statues and free games. What do we get? Nintendo Power subscriptions and t-shirts? Lame. --Give the DS some PDA like features. I'm surprised there isn't a text program on there yet, like Microsoft Word. I'd love to have a "desktop" and quick access to simple downloads and my mail on the DS. That would definitely sell it even faster. --Stop this "they're ALL Toad" nonsense. Bring back THE Toad, say he's THE Toad, and give him his own game. --Put Waluigi in a main Mario title. --Stop liking Tingle. --Give Kirby a fresh, new game. Stop beating around the bush and make him a 3D platformer already. --Pokemon in other genres. I'd kill to play a REAL RPG using Pokemon, or a Contra-like game where they're your enemies. --Speaking of RPGs, my last bit... another Mario RPG on a console, in full 3D. I love Paper Mario 1 and 2 to death. I do. And Mario and Luigi is fantastic. I wasn't a big fan of the SNES Mario RPG. But I did like the traditional RPG feel to it, so bring that back. Get Squaresoft again even. I just wanna see Mario and pals, in 3D, fight in a RPG again.
