Nitendo has said that on May 9th they will FULLY reveal the revolution. About 165 days left(man what a long wait)

Its good to have a date, but they've gotta do stuff before then, too. Because if they don't they'll either have no time for hype (which is bad for Nintendo) or release the Rev really late in the year (which is bad for us).
Still, w00t!!11!
EDIT: Theres talk around the internet that the E3 conference wont be a 'unveiling', rather, it will be a launch party - because the Rev is launching right around that time (possibly May 10th). Of course its rumour and speculation, but wasn't one of SEGA's consoles launched at E3? So it's not entirely impossible.
Lets hope.

They've pretty much said that they will have unveiled everything at that E3 - they have made it clear that we probably won't see any games until then... but that doesn't mean there will be an information black hole between now and then.
After all, apparently the Revolution has even MORE surprises up its shiny sleeves.

I'd be glad if they make the system here half a year before when it is scheduled - 5-2006 minus 5 months - yeah, I'm talking about THIS month. December. NOW.

We must not rush perfection. Also I've heard the same rumor about it launching sometime in May. Personally I say June.

I'm gonna say either mid to late June or mid November... I can picture them trying to get it out just after unveiling it at E3, but, if not, then I predict it will be held off and released for the Christmas Period. I can't picture it, say, launching in August / September.
Of course I couldn't picture the controller either, so who knows?

As I understood it, Nintendo only announced that they were going to reveal all the info about the Revolution. The last I heard about an actual release window was "later half of 2006" (straight from Satoru Iwata's mouth last September at Tokyo Game Show). As far as I know, that hasn't changed.

Well, he didn't say that exactly. He said there would be a worldwide release sometime after the beginning of the 2006 fiscal year, which is pretty much any time after March. We know it's not going to be before E3, so some time after May is as near as we've gotten so far.

I'd still bet on a late november-early december release though. I can't see it being released earlier than than.
Aleast not in europe anyhow.

I'd say a Christmastime release sounds about right, but the last couple of home console releases have fallen earlier in the year in Europe (N64:March, GC:May), so who can say!  |

NEWS FLASH Developers have (apparently) been told to expect a release date around Thanksgiving 2006.
In other news, developers have been saying that the Revolution isn't as souped up as the PS3 or X-Box 360... clocking in at around three times the graphics processing power of the Gamecube... other developers have said it's like a souped up X-Box (although this is incredibly confusing, as the X-Box is not even twice the power of Gamecube).
But none of them seem to mind. They are too excited and worked up over the controller. Many developers have already said they will support the system, and many third parties are signing up for support.
Come May we will know if all of this is speculation or fact.
