Pokemon, Zelda and StarFox would rock. Actually, in Zelda you change your char every game. It's just a descendent of the char from the prev. game. So I think it would work.

So...basically, you want Star Control II: The Ur-Quan Masters set in the Lylat Wars timeline? Kekekee... Yes, I'm just as big on old PC games as I am with old Nintendo stuff. X3 How embarrasing, my ignorance is on show yet again, as I really don't know the game you refer to. I should really cover up ;D But if Star Control II is pretty much like I described my dream Starfox MMO (is it online? You said it's quite old), then could you please tell me which systems it is available on, how much it would cost, would I be able to download something like this online for free? Because that would be pretty-pretty gud! PS: Blast Corps MMO?? Are you mad??? Ummm...*thinks* what would make a good MMO? IDEA! Pikmin! Some sort of space base in orbit where you can chat+trade+form exploration parties!

Pick a vehicle, choose from a wide-range of destruction territories...and....never mind. But if you think about it, then you'll see!

While I've never played it myself (I was a Wing Commander fanatic), I do know about a free, open-source project to port it to modern systems. sc2.sourceforge.net/I suppose I ought to try it myself.

Pikmin? I wanna be Blue Pikmin #214! No you fool! I mean you would be a customisable Hocotate-ian, with cool customisable space-suits. Then you may choose to hang around in space-station (didn't PSO2 have something like that? maybe thats where I got the idea), chatting to others, buying equipment, forming exploration parties etc. Then comes the bit where you go down planet-side and explore. You would probably need smaller Onions that follow you or that are part of your inventory, to save backtracking. Find treasure, battle bulborbs, experiment with breeding Pikmin types. Set up permanent fixtures for others to find; maybe get your Piks to walk through paint and create an abstract piece of art, or get them to gnaw at logs to create sculptures (that Rev controller will be a blessing: presition Pik throwing at a log, "hey you, Blue#36, deeper cuts!" and so on). Digging with Pikmin will take on a whole new meaning when you can create permanent caves to display your rare treasure to those people who find your hoard (behind glass, of couse, no stealing). Dig up some precious ores to trade for Pokos, which can be spent on Onions with more capacity, better whisles, all the upgrades that were found in Pikmin 2. Ah! Good thought! Actions of players exploring certain regions affect the landscape! Too much digging = plants die out from lack of roots, too much hunting predators = stuff that predators eat (plants, harmless animals) thrive and begin to suffocate area, lots of artsy stuff = unlock prettier wildlife and area will sing with colour. Good, yes?

There are a ton of games that could be effective MMO's. Star Fox is easily the most recognizable one with Animal Crossing and Pokemon.
F-Zero would be an awesome one. You create your own character and machine, then your off exploring the galaxy. You could have jobs like bounty hunting, criminal gangs, Galactic Police, and Dark Million as well. Personally I think that would be so cool. Metroid could also work out. Seeing the different hunters like Noxus, Ridley, Trace, etc... The possibilities are endless. With the Alliance, Space Pirates, and like always neutral. Mario could also work. If you take characters from Paper Mario and such. You could be a Koopa, Bob-omb, Goomba, Boo, Spirit, Shadow Siren, X-Naut, Yoshi, Rat, etc... With a little bit of sacrifice any franchise can be a great MMO.

I'd like to see a Four Swords-like MMO. Not Zelda, but similar.
Also, a Harvest Moon MMO would be nice.

What can I say, I'm an idea's man ;D 9 times out of 10, they're not very good ideas, but the tenth one is usually a "doozy". Check out the thread "a course in phenomenology" for my next foolish idea.

Zelda could work with some tweaking. Set it in Hyrule, and you play as one of the races in a fight for dominance over some new item. I don't know. They did it with Final Fantasy somewhat successfully :/ Star Fox would be really cool, actually. But far too epic for a console game, like Fry said. I like the ideas of F-Zero, Pikmin (you play a unique character controlling your own individual horde), and of course POKEMON Custom Robo would work nicely like Pokemon, offering a different kind of customizability BUT, there's one I think you're all giving the gip... It's a big'un too... Nazo no Murasamejou. Nintendo has been placing an odd amount of focus on this game as of late, more than expected. And methinks a MMORPG in a feudal Japanese realm, that has yet to be fully developed, has kaboodles of untapped potential. If I were a betting man, I'd wager dollars to donuts that's the kind of route they're taking.

I wouldn't, but I'd wager they are working on something... well... maybe not wager... I'll hazard a guess... yeah, that'll do.
Custom Robo could work!

How could Star Fox be too epic? It would be just like Star Wars Galaxies. Besides Miyamoto himself said he wants SF to be an epic movie like game.

There wouldn't be enough memory on the Rev for it... maybe the 8th Gen?
