I haven't got it yet, but it just came out. But my question is more along this line:
Is Chibi-Robo first or second party?
It has neat cameos in it, like Eggplant Man. I know Nintendo is the one who published it and all, but I don't know many of the details.

Chibi-Robo was developed by Skip (the people who made Giftpia). It was originally going to be published by Bandai, but they wanted more of an action puzzle title, with Chibi foiling burglars or something. Bandai later dropped it....
...and Nintendo picked it up. They allowed Skip to go in the direction of their original plan, and that's what we see today.
This may be down to Miyamoto's harsh teacher-like words to the main game designer at Skip - that Giftpia wasn't as original as it should have been - that it was a failure because the designer let the game become more "standard".
It's second-party, in that Skip is the creator and developer of the game.
