I would imagine that HAL would also include WI-FI connectivity. Being able to player against players all over the world would be amazing, it would be just like the REV. It might not be a HAL game! SSBR isn't a HAL developed game, so it's possible SSBDS wouldn't be either!

You see, Nintendo has made only 1 fighting game so far - Joy Mecha Fight. There's also Urban Champion and ProWrestling. Oh. Forgot those. Sorry. 1. Technicly, SSB is a fighting game. 2. HAL Labs might not even devlop a SSB DS. Also, how about just using the touch screen to move, and chose which direction the attacks go in? It would be like, a replacment for the analog stick. How would dual screen gameplay work... what would the top screen do? Show the statistics? Well, don't always associate DS with touch screen. Touch screen is a plus, but that doesn't mean you always have to use it. And, now all those people are concentrating on the Rev, so the chance of an SSB on DS is 0. I would imagine that HAL would also include WI-FI connectivity. Being able to player against players all over the world would be amazing, it would be just like the REV. It might not be a HAL game! SSBR isn't a HAL developed game, so it's possible SSBDS wouldn't be either! I think HAL is still involoved in the making of the game. If not, well.... there's a chance that I ignore this game.

Whats so great about HAL?
Besides, the creator of the first two (Sakuri, or something? Having a mental blank) is in charge of SSB3. So its no problem.
