Awesome. I never played any of the Metal Slug games, but I am aware of how awesome they are supposed to be. If Nintendo teamed up with SNK to bring Neo-Geo titles to the virtual consoles as well... well then... *drool*
I wish they'd announce that the Sega Master System would be available too. If only for the original Alex Kidd. Ahh, bliss.

I read this just about an hour ago on 4cr... totally made my day. I'm a huge fan of the Metal Slug games. Frantic gameplay + stunning pixel art graphics = <3
Apparantly it wil include "many additional surprises" as well!

Metal Slug is awesome! I haven't played them all, but I've played a few of them, and I used to play part 3 a lot in the arcade. I was really glad to hear this news. I always wondered why games like this that I love to play never get released on systems I own. Don't the game companies know that I'm here? Eh, Nintendo fans get no respect. I did pick up Metal Slug Advance, though.

Metal Slug...I remember my cousin playing that at our family reunion on MacMAME, an emulator.
Is that where you run around, free these derelicts, and they hold out their pants for you to cash out of?

This is awesome news. Next to Kirby Superstar, Metal Slug X was my favorite co-op game, and probably the game I used up the most quarters playing, if not Marvel vs Capcom 2. This is one more reason to buy a WII.

Metal Slug X reigns supreme on my list of fun arcade games. I will definitely be plunking down the cash for this collection; Metal Slug games are loads of fun 2 Player.

Dang, completely forgot about 2-player mode. I played Metal Slug 3 with a friend not too long ago - tons of fun.

Planet Gamecube has posted 18 glorious screen shots from the Wii version of Metal Slug Anthology! It's supposed to be a launch title, right? For anyone that's interested in it, I recommend picking it up as soon as it comes out since it strikes me as the sort of game that would rather quickly become hard to find. Also, I believe it's supposed to have some new Wii-mote capabilities. I can't imagine what those would be since simply holding the controller in the "retro" position would pretty much suffice. Six whole Metal Slug games in one package! Ooh, I can't wait!
