Lara Croft is All Over Nintendo

Looks like there are new Tomb Raider games coming to the DS and GBA as well as the Gamecube.

Details are scarce for now, but the handheld versions will be based on their console counterparts. "There are a host of new and exciting features for Lara on the Nintendo platforms," said Senior Brand Manager Kathryn Clements. "With the stunning graphics of the original games optimized to Nintendo's platforms, Legend will further extend the reach of the Lara universe."

I'm impressed. Sounds like Eidos is really putting some effort into the Gamecube version rather that just throwing together a bare bones port with little or no optimization. I'm getting more and more interested in how this turns out!

And you have no idea how hard I'm trying to beat back a bad joke involving Lara Croft and the "Wii."

You know, it's weird because I've recently been reminiscing about the original Tomb Raider. It really wasn't a bad game. I'm interested enough to rent Legend, definitely...

I can't wait to see how Legend compares with Tomb Raiders 2 & 3 in terms of gameplay now that Eidos has apparently ditched the 'square' look?
