Well... What I want to ask is... What are the games what doesn't allow their save files to be copied? I know about FE Path of Radiance (to make some ridiclously hard thing even harder... I think), F-Zero GX (to prevent AX-only data to be copied, and thus asking users to spend their money on coin-ops) and Pokémon XD (same reason as FE9, I think). What other games doesn't allow file copying?
I suspect that Pokémon Colosseum and Animal Crossing (both Doubutsu no Mori + and e+) work this way, too, as players are making their unique file.
What if the GC gets powered OFF by accident? The file is doomed and the player is left there to mourn the dead file. They should have allowed 2 files of the same game stored in one Memory Card for these games, so that the players can backup and still not being allowed to spread the file. WHAT? The Memory Card is physically lost? Oh, I can't help.

Colosseum, XD and F-Zero GX are the only ones I know about (haven't had to transfer Animal Crossing data so far, but I expect that would also be forbidden).
Problem is, my memory cards keep threatening to corrupt (but haven't done so yet). But I would essentially lose my progress in these games - for the Pokemon ones that's a significant amount of my time and effort... over 24 hours of play each (and I still haven't completed them).
So I'm a little peeved that in order to prevent some people from cheating, I might have to lose all of my save progress so far.
And there are no workarounds. No switching memory cards and resaving the games. They just tell you that you can't save until you put in the original memory card.
Sucks.

Hm. I have a memory card with USB hookup, I need to get one of those games and see if it allows copies.

The F-Zero one annoys me greatly. You see, back in the days where the AX unit sat in SOuth Australia, I would occasionally take the long trip down there with my memory card for some AX goodies - but since I couldn't transfer the data, I couldn't take my if-it-corrupts-or-gets-lost-its-not-really-that-bad Memory Card 59, I had to take my all-of-my-files-and-all-of-the-time-spent-will-be-wasted-if-the-crad-corrupts Memory Card 251.
Thankfully nothing ever went wrong, but if it had..... FALCON PUUUUUNCH! would have been my only solution.

Pikmin 2 won't let me copy my data either. I suspect that the GC won't allow save files to be copied if they take in excess of 15 blocks or so, of memory.

I can copy Collector's Edition: MM, though. And I'm pretty sure that's more than 15 blocks.

I think I've copied Pikmin 2 data with no problems.
All of them seem to be "fixes" to prevent copying of data. Otherwise you could duplicate hundreds of super-powerful Pokemon and items, or copy data for transfer to F-Zero AX.

Why did they do this, then? There is a cheating device for GC called Action Replay, and you know, getting all secrets without playing is no fun.
.....Although, I DO these copying stuff for my own... *blushes*
