Oh, and why is the cancelled Disk version of Clu Clu Land classified as a separate game? Games like the original Legend of Zelda, which were released as a Disk in Japan, but as a cartridge elsewhere only have one game page. Because it has new levels, slightly updated music and an all-new intro screen, oh yeah, and a GIANT King Urchin. Same goes for the Famicom Disk System version of Ice Climber - which also features new levels, new enemies, a new title screen, etc. That's why they're listed differently. The other disk/cart releases that are identical are kept as one page (even where changes were merely a localisation thing, eg. Metroid, which had a save system in Japan, and passwords in the US... but the rest of the game is the same).

Well, the "Yakuman" series is Mahjong... the "Mahjong" series is Mahjong, both are by Nintendo. I suppose it's a bit like saying "International Superstar Soccer" is by Konami, and "Pro Evolution Soccer" is by Konami, so are they the same series?
"Probably" is the answer I would give.

Originally I was going to mention in this post how I came to realize the problem described below through the Pokémon series game list, but it all became too wordy and confusing, so I scrapped it. But even when they have little to do with the franchise pages, it's still allright to bring up important site issues in this topic, right? I just noticed the US and Japan GameCube game lists don't have that nice "Promotional Games" thing at end like the Europe releases page. The Pokémon Box pages is still accesible from the Japanese list, but a link to it is missing from the American one, and the same applies for both lists regarding the Zelda Master Quest, the Collector's Edition and Pacman Vs., but those don't have pages for them up yet, anyway. Shouldn't the Game Boy Player loader disk also qualify as Special Software?

The European Gamecube list was the first page I updated into the new format, and the promo section was a test that I didn't apply to other pages (at least not yet).
I will need to do an information overhaul on these promo titles... adding them to the lists is a priority, but giving them game pages is not.

It was the idea to make them Smash Brotherish. As for Nintendogs... I am torn. It's not really three games... it's one virtual pet that comes in three different forms. But what am I to do? Nintendo seem to be releasing games especially to mess with my filing system

Well, I guess they're diffrent games in the same way that Pokemon Red & Blue are diffrent games. It's up to you though.

Well, that's my issue. I might have all three boxes on the relevant game lists, but link them to the same game page. In that respect I'll be treating them more like the two-part Disk System games... and I won't have to find different pictures for each.
But I've been thinking of doing that for the Pokemon game lists for a while as well... the only problem with doing that is the whole Red/Green+Blue for Japan, Red/Blue for US thing.

There's also the issue that they'll have 3 diffrent serial numbers.
