I have decided to split work on the Game Boy section's update to the new format (progressing nicely) and the Frachise section, as many of you already know.
The franchise section is undergoing a fairly big change, as you also well know... so I thought I'd let you hear what I have planned for each part, what I'm working on, and what I could use some help with.
SERIES GAME LISTS
These pages will now consist of the series game list, with separate sections for each spinoff sub-series where appropriate. They will also still contain the information on licensed games (where a 3rd party publisher has released a game in that series - for Nintendo-owned franchises only) and cancelled games in that series. Not much is changing here, though I hope to bring them all up to date, and possible wrangle some screenshots for the licensed games. I will also be writing a brief introduction to each series, and links to related sections of the site (eg. the series cameos lists (below) and the Nintendo Stars pages). The sections will once again include, after a long absence, upcoming games in that series.
SERIES CAMEO LISTS
These are currently held on the same page as the game lists, but they will be split off on to a separate page. They will now house a description and all available screenshots of each cameo in that series. A new section here is the "Notable Appearances" section - which is where I need the most help. This section will include any non-Nintendo games that feature a Nintendo cameo (which is becoming ever-more common), or any unusual references to the series in demos, previews or abandoned projects.
For example: The Animal Crossing and Pikmin cameos list will include information on the E3 2003 demo of Stage Debut, where characters from both series act as stand-in characters. These will become a standard cameo if the game is released with the cameos intact, or will remain there if the game is released without them, or cancelled outright.
Another example: Fight Night 2005 will appear on the Punch-Out!! page, and the "Boxing" Game & Watch game will likely be moved there. Soul Calibur II will appear on the Zelda page, as will the Final Fantasy games that feature Link's grave.
Any more of these would be welcome, as would any further cameos anyone has discovered that haven't been mentioned on these forums. Always welcome
Much of the groundwork for these changes is already in place, so it's just a case of shuffling them around a bit onto separate pages. So expect them to be up sometime soon.
