Ah, but is that launch DAY titles, or launch PERIOD titles. Microsoft seemed to redefine the "launch" as around 6 months after a console's release when they brought out the X-Box 360, and UbiSoft could be using this definition.
Of course, that's still mighty impressive. That's roughly what you'd expect from a first-party company,

Although UBI (I remember it's read as "you-bee-eye" instead of "Wu-bi" or "You-bi") is more of a publisher for those games... And, that's crazier than a first party if you talk about "day". I've seen 2-5 launches for Nintendo consoles, and 7 is a bit extreme.

I pronounce it Oo-bee Soft. No idea if that's right or not.

It seems that many people prounce it "you-bi", but its Japanese name, ユービーアイソフト株式会社, suggests that it's spelt as how the 3 letters do. But again, its Chinese name (of the Shanghai branch) suggest that it's "you-bi" or something.
It confuses me. I do spell the letters "you-bee-eye" myself.

Looks like I was right as well. IGN refers to the Wii's "launch period" - not launch day. I would expect a maximum of three of those to be available on launch day (Raving Rabbits and Red Steel are the main contenders).
UbiSoft have learned a valuable lesson - the first year of a console's release is the best time for third-parties. Sales of third party games are much higher during this time (on Nintendo consoles especially) than they are the rest of the time.

I used to say U-bi, but after listening to IGN's podcasts I changd it to Oo-bi.
Yeah, I assumed it was launch period. But I thought that only meant in a month! Not six months!

Yeah, so they seem like they are doing more than they really are.
Still pretty good though. Does this mean a chance for SSBB? Probably not, but SSBDS or SSB4 maybe.

what the hell are you talking about? SSBB won't be out by Christmas, but a non-existant SSB4 will be?

He's suggesting that Ubi may be building such a strong relationship with Nintendo that while it may be too late to get a character in SSB:B, their chances could be good for fourth SSB game down the line.
It was so comprehensible I went insane!

Rayman is a potential candidate for SSBB, I would guess. Of course, it'd be even better if Jade (BG&E) made it, purely for obscure value.

Wouldn't the dude from Prince of Persia be a good candidate too?
