Back to "Real Life": So I was just walking my dog, and I happened to walk past a couple of guys I recognised from my childhood, and it reminded me of an event from my schoolboy years.
Would you like to hear my story? I completely understand if you don't, because 1) it has nothing to do with Nintendo, 2) Its quite long, and 3) its from my disturbing childhood.

I've got nothing very interesting to do. Tell your story, nintyboy. Fryguy, have you lost your British spirit? Deprive yourself of any food or drink that isn't fish 'n' chips, or tea, and maybe you'll get it back. Just kidding. As for important news, Arthur Miller, the guy who wrote Death Of Salesman and was once married to Marylin Monroe, has just recently passed away.

You kidding? There is NOTHING more British than slagging off the monarchy. Hey, if we don't do it, nobody will. My taxes pay for... etc. into infinity... ;D

And there's nothing more Australian in the republican sense (NOT to be confused with the Republican party in the US - rather the strong movement in Australia to become a republic and cast off the shackles, as meaningless as they now are, of Colonial "rule") than bagging the royal family either... It's too bad our PM is such a fan of them, or we'd be independant by now... such are the injustices of the world...

You see, if your PM was British he wouldn't be that fussed about the royalty, and would make Australia independent. See what I'm getting at? That's right... VOTE ME AS KING OF AUSTRALIA! Wait... does that work? I watched an excellent program not that long ago where Tony Robinson investigated a supposed "illegal" break in the royal family line in the 16th Century that meant everyone following (including the entire House of Windsor) were not the rightful heirs to the throne. He then proceeded to track down the rightful heir and found him... a third-generation Australian fella

Are you sure that's correct? I thought that if Henry VII hadn't seized the throne, and the country had been ruled by the previous king's heirs, then some guy who is married to someone in the royal family of Monaco would be king.

I might've gotten the century wrong. But yes, the rightful heir to the throne is an Australian guy who lives a simple life. He had no idea he was of royal lineage, of course, as the links he had come from were centuries old. Still... it was a pretty good moment in TV Not everyone gets told they should rightfully be king.

OK, finally found enough time to tell my story. Prepare to be depressed Picture the scene: a 12-year-old me walking home from school - ginger hair, freckles, rucksack flung over one shoulder as was the style of the time. I had always been...different. You know that kid who sits at the back, is really quiet, actually does some work, and has a reputation for being a "momma's boy"? Well I sat next to him, and I wished I was as cool as him. So there I am, walking home from school, when 2 lads run up to me for a chat. I vaguely recognise them as people I've seen around the place. 1st kid: Hey, are you "Tom"? Me: Actually, its "Todd"- 2nd Kid: So "Tom", we heard where you got beaten up by Scott Stevens again the other day... This was true. Scott had a habit of hanging around the school gates, waiting for weaklings to come out so that he could pounce on them. His usual weaklings were me, and Darren (funny hair, big teeth, braces). The school couldn't do anything about this, because he was outside school property. Me: yes. 1st kid: Why didn't you hit him back? He's about 2 years youger than you! This was also true, but only in years. In criminal benevolence, Scott was about 25. Me: I guess I don't believe in violence. Violence only leads to more violence. 1st kid: Oh really... 1st kid and 2nd kid go into a huddle, whispering, then 2nd kid comes up to me and hits me hard in the face. He runs off a short distance. 1st kid: Get him! Fight back! 2nd kid: Yeah! Hit me! I won't mind! Me: Er...no. 1st kid: why not? Me: er...because he's not worth the hassle. 1st kid: Go on! Hit him! Me: Why? 1st Kid: Because he hit you! Me: So? 1st Kid: So hit him back! Me: Why? 1st Kid: Because he hit you! Me: So? This went on for a while, until they got fed up, kicked me a couple of times, and ran off. Personally, I couldn't see the point. A few months after this, Scott Stevens was taken in by the Police, because of an incident involving a large pair of pliers and Darren's teeth/braces. I never saw him again after that, he probably had some sort of restraining order.

Some people say "violence only begets more violence." They do of course mean that fighting back only leads to more trouble later on. This is probably true.
I prefer the saying "violence deserves vendetta". The school thug was quite keen on making games lessons miserable for me. I was always (unfairly) regarded as a bit of a weed... more because I was a bit geeky than anything particularly physically abnormal. So when said thug got a mouthful of fist one day, during one of his usual "pick on the weed" sessions, he was stunned. This was of course witnessed by many people, and rather than start fighting, he just stood there stunned. It was the talk of the school for a couple of weeks... I think a thug's reputation can be damaged by something like that.
Made me a few new accomplices as well... some of them close to the thug, providing a long-term shield against further attacks. I don't believe in violence unless it's unavoidable. It must always be in retaliation. If only the American government felt the same way...

His usual weaklings were me, and Darren (funny hair, big teeth, braces). The school couldn't do anything about this, because he was outside school property. If that happened to me I would either start carrying a knife, or pepper spray. Although if this happened when I was younger I'm pretty sure my dad would have killed someone, or at least scared 'em pretty bad. He was overly proctive of me and my sister, he had a bad temper, and he likes to collect guns(and make bombs...). But luckily I never had to deal with any situations like this because I've always been home schooled. I believe we should start giving more people the death penalty. Alot more. Edit: Raar! No long post quotes! It's unnecessary. The post is RIGHT UP THERE! (Fryguy64)

Hmm... I believe starting a forum topic where we talk about things relevant to our lives was a really bad idea and a lot of people could end up getting upset.
I don't believe the death penalty is a good idea. Send them to fight to the death on Monster Island... that would make much better TV.

Send them to fight to the death on Monster Island... that would make much better TV. It's not an island, it's a peninsula. Thank God I was teased for being quick to anger when I was a kid. Now I've learnt how easy it is to do the same thing to extremely idiotic people just with a bit of witty sarcasm.

Sorry about the long quotes. Oh, and I hope I didn't upset anyone. Sorry if I did. Probably didn't upset anyone... but not everyone thinks the death penalty and guns are good things that benefit mankind... and I could see an argument brewing if the discussion was not kept in check. It's like me and religion... don't get me started...
