GameXplain uploaded some new videos featuring the new Zelda (and Miyamoto mentions the new Star Fox will also release next year but before Zelda), Codename STEAM, and Mario Maker which also features assets from Super Mario World now. Pretty cool stuff! |

Mario Maker has vertical scrolling? Great!
Now if each stage can have multiple rooms and you could make/upload a level pack then I'd be 100% satisfied.

Mario Maker also lets me make new levels based on Super Mario Bros. 3 and Super Mario World?! My god, it's like a childhood dream come true! I always dreamed of making Mario games since the early 1990s! Now I can!
Now if Mario Maker allows me to make new levels based on Doki Doki Panic and I can play as Toad and Peach complete with vegetables and unique abilities, this would be 100% perfect!

It's already been posted that the demo for Codename STEAM is out on the eShop (for NA and Europe), there been posters given out at PAX that have more characters revealed.   Scarecrow (From Wizard of Oz like Lion). Queequeg (Moby Dick) Randolph Carter (Lovecraft!) The Fox (Unknown, Nintendo has not told what she is from, but because she is mexican, and it has been discovered that fox translates to Zorro in Spanish, so a possible female Zorro?) Randolph and The Fox actually appeared at the E3 event but were unnamed. Gamexplain's video has also shown 3 more character slots on the character select screen. (2:51) (They can't be the Fire Emblem characters, because there's 4 of them and they appear to have a seperate Amiibo menu). With two Wizard of Oz characters already, I'm wonder what the chances of Tin Man and Dorothy making it in? Also here's some footage from Gamexplain of the multiplayer and talking about the game/characters. |

I think Lincoln will probably end up being the last character you recruit. Make him a really strong fighter who can reinforce a poorly trained team.

I doubt that "The Fox" is a female Zorro. Zorro's known for his mask and sword. This lady has neither. She looks like Wonder Woman, though...I'm real curious at who she is.

I think Lincoln will probably end up being the last character you recruit. Make him a really strong fighter who can reinforce a poorly trained team. You know, this could be interesting. Lincoln was actually quite a strong guy, known for log chopping and rail splitting. He was also an accomplished wrestler in his youth. What I'm saying is, he'd fit quite well. Randolph Carter makes me realize how much I want John Carter in this. I don't think he'd get along with Lincoln though... |

From the sounds of it, the estate of Edgar Rice Burroughs probably has the (video game) rights (along with movie, TV and merchandise) to the character after Disney stopped using it. Another crazy idea for two more characters, Sherlock Holmes and Watson. Also the official website for the game is up, here's an interesting quote from the "Age of Steam" page. If President Abraham Lincoln must face a bizarre future filled with aliens and mayhem, at least he won't have to face it alone. Iconic characters have sprung to life from the pages of American literature and folklore to fight alongside him.Thought this was interesting if they are just limiting to American created characters, (which would prevent Sherlock and Watson from joining) then went to Google to find out J.M. Barrie (the guy that created Peter Pan (and Tiger Lily)) is actually Scottish, so that seems kind of untrue. |

Technically, John Carter has been ruled to be in the Public Domain, but the ERB estate has been trying to prove otherwise for both him and Tarzan. They're one big corporation wanting to fight them away from losing that fight.
Pretty similar situation to Holmes, actually. It was just this year it was ruled everything in the Holmes stories is public domain. The ACD estate has been fighting that for a while.
