This is a thread for games coming soon that aren't getting enough attention, but should do. Feel free to champion an up-and-coming game here that needs some much earned support. First up, I'd like to draw your attention to Professor Layton and the Mysterious Village, for DS. Its in the style of Phoenix Wright and Trauma Centre, but instead of surgery or courtroom action, you're a Sherlock Holmes type detective trying to solve a mystery. Gameplay is mostly exploring the village, talking to locals, and solving logic puzzles (spot the difference, simple jigsaws, maths, etc) to presumably gain clues, its hard to tell because the official site is all japanese. Check out the movie on the site and marvel at the cartoony goodness! Next check out Treasure Island Z, for the Wii. I've been keeping up to date on this one over on the IGN website. Its a beautiful cel-shaded point and click adventure! At last we get to point and click with the wiimote! ;D Head on over to IGN's Treasure Island Z page and look at the glorious movies.

I'd like people to pay attention at G&W Gallery 4. I donn't know why there's not even a Japanse vesion of it - I mean, minigame colletion is a VERY good idea - and it has a full potential for a DS version. Why not make one? G&W Gallery 4 has 20 G&W games in total, featuring games in various styles, from the oh-very-easy-I-can-even-get-9999-easily-on-Very-Hard ario's Cement Factory to the oh-no-all-tetacles-are-out-and-I'll-be-doomed Octopus! Yeah!
It should have a far better reception than it did. Game & Watch is no boring stuff, I tell ya.

Hotel Dusk FTW*cough* Also, I'd love if more people tried to hunt down Beyond Good & Evil. It's great. ^_^ As for upcoming games...Disaster: Day of Crisis is my underhyped choice. It sound really intriguing, and since Nintendo just bought the developer (Monolith Soft), I think that could be considered a good sign. ^_^ Prof. Layton is a mystery game, eh? I haven't heard much of it as of late, but since I'm on a Hotel Dusk/Phoenix Wright <3 kick these days, I'll add that to my list of hopefuls.

I should make a thread of "Games that Deserved More Hype". However, based on my opinions, it's sure to add controversy. (it's not MC Kids, so don't ask) I'm kind of interested in some KOEI cooking game for DS in Japan. Shame there's no WIki page for it.... Here's the Famitsu page, and if you're for slightly broken English and no pictures, here's the rundown from Excite Japan.... As one can see, the translation is iffy at best. In short, the game is DS Oryouri Nabi Marugoto Teikoku Hotel ("Total DS Food Navi Imperial Hotel") and focuses on recreating food from Imperial Hotels in Japan. The article focuses mainly on the fact that there were live chefs at the event to demonstrate the real deals.

I came in here hoping to do an objection post once I saw you posted in this thread. But I second this post. That one with the little girl and the teddy bear made me cry sadly.

I believe most people would say the least overlooked Nintendo titles, but I would mention these Nintendo titles:
Tomato Adventure - It inspired the Mario & Luigi series. Of course it's wierd, but it is one of the simplest RPGs. We probably need more RPGs that don't contain much magic, dragons, or medieval-style weapons. This game would probably be more fun if designed for the DS, so players can play the Gimmicks' minigames with their Touch Screen, as well as Gimica: The Card Game.
Densetsu no Stafy series - I know it is popular in Japan, but probably not elsewhere, due to the series being Japan-Only. If you are comparing this to the Kirby series, you're thinking of the graphics, as well as comparing two characters that look like pillows/puffs/etc. with plain "Have A Nice Day."-style faces with opened mouths. Stafy doesn't inhale or copy abilities, but he swims faster than Kirby. The Stafy series defines a new genre: Marine Platform. You mostly swim in many watery areas, while running and jumping on platforms.
Balloon Kid - If Nintendo decides to develop a new Balloon Fight title with many features added to it, then it should be a combination of the original Balloon Fight, Balloon Kid, and some new ideas. Balloon Kid isn't a poorly-developed, plain platformer. It's actually an updated version of Balloon Fight's "Balloon Trip" mode. It also has one of the few young female Nintendo characters.
Battle Clash/Metal Combat: Falcon's Revenge - These two Super Scope games even deserve a sequel or two. There probably aren't many light-gun shooters out today, and these probably need to build the genre's hype along with Duck Hunt, Hogan's Alley, Wild Gunman, Gumshoe, Yoshi's Safari, and Tin Star. The Wii might also support the genre.
Mole Mania - I believe one reason why this game didn't become popular, is that it was released around the release of the N64, most likely because most people prefer home console gaming more than handheld and arcade gaming. Another reason why this didn't become popular, is the same reason why Balloon Kid, Solar Striker, and several other Game Boy titles didn't become popular. I know the original Tetris, Pokemon Red & Blue, Zelda: Link's Awakening, and some Mario and Kirby titles became popular.
AND
StarTropics series - It was a little popular back when it was released, but when Super Mario Bros. 3 and the SNES came out, the StarTropics series lost its popularity. Comparing it to the Zelda series is probably just like comparing the Stafy series to the Kirby series. They are similar, but they has different features and styles.
