have any of you guys heard about this kind of trick? i'm searching for it since i read something about it in the Internet. i've heard it allows u to evolve pokemon which evolve by trading, simply without trading. i'll list below what i know about it so that, if anyone knows this trick, u may help me checking it and telling me if it really works. 1) go to the GTS in Jubilife and choose the pokemon u want to evolve (consequently, u need Wi-Fi) 2) select that pokemon and offer it in exchange of a lvl 100 pokemon (this is for your pokemon not to be traded, because anyone would give u a lvl 100 pokemon at all) 3) then, get the pokemon back and it will evolve PS.: i dont have Wi-Fi yet, so i cant specify many things about this process, but this is all i know. so i'm asking everyone who knows about this trick for help plz PS².: i can't remember very well, but i think it only works with pokemon which need a specific item to evolve (eg.: Rhydon w/ Protector). not sure, though

I already did this a few times. Not for pokemon like Scythere yet, but it should still work.

Heh thats pretty cool.
Of course if you have the internet its not too hard to get some friend codes off a forum and trade and trade back, but still that could be quite handy.

yeah, mainly if u want a 100% secure evolution, if i can put things this way. after all, we can always meet those "honest" people in the internet, who would take your evolved pokemon and wouldn't give it back to u :/
oh, and i couldn't have my Wi-Fi installed yet D':

This only works with item trade evolutions, though. I tried it with a Machoke and no dice :/

On the contrary, I evolved a Machoke and Graveller that way.

I think the first post left out a step.
Take the pokemon you want to evolve (for instance, Graveller) and set it up to trade. Make sure it's set to trade for a Pokemon nobody would ever give. A L1 Dialga, for instance.
Now go find a pokemon to trade in the regular GTS mode. Something simple, like trading a Starly or something. Just as long as you make a trade, it doesn't matter.
Once that trade is complete, take your Graveller (or whatever) back out of the GTS and once it does the little animation with the flying pokeball, it will begin to evolve.
