Hi and welcome to the forums Yeah, I also noticed the resemblance between Master Hand and Wham Bam Rock, strange isn't it? His attacks are almost the same as Master Hands' attacks, and he also has some attacks from Crazy Hand, such as making rocks fall from his hand.

I've battled Master Hand, and he has some similar attacks to SSBM. Though my little brother has nearly completed it already and says there's a part where you battle Master Hand and Crazy Hand together. When together their attacks are just like those in SSBM.
The Wham Bam Rock thing probably isn't a coincidence, but there's actually been a few Nintendo games where you fight giant hands (Oracle of Seasons, Donkey Kong GB). Some of Master Hand's attacks are also based on what the Game Over menu hand does in the Kirby games. But because many of the attacks are conventional "Boss Hand" attacks I decided not to include it.
I did do a quick investigate to see if any of the Fire Emblem alternate costumes were cameos though, and found that Marth's white armour with white+red cape, light blue clothing and gold trim is based on the hero of Fire Emblem: Trachia 776 (SFC), Leaf. I've not noticed another Fire Emblem cameo though. I will add it when I next have my Gamecube plugged in to my TV Card.

Possibly... or maybe they're both references to something else. Maybe a Japanese Starfox comic or something. There seem to be a few SSBM cameos about now. If Mr. Game & Watch is considered to be an original SSBM character (which he is) then Game & Watch Gallery 4 and Wario Ware, inc.: Mega Party Games both have Mr. G&W cameos, and Kirby & The Amazing Mirror has the Master/Crazy Hand cameos too. It's entirely possible that Rare took Falco's outfit from SSBM as well... perhaps it was their favourite outfit for him or something

www.nintendo.co.jp/ngc/gsaj/history/page/index.htmlThis is the Starfox comic from the Japanese Nintendo site, released to tie up the storyline between Starfox 64 and Starfox Adventures. It's why Falco left the team and what the other characters did to get him back. If you can't read Japanese, never worry, because... arwing.host.sk/This website has translations on their comic section PLUS all of the Nintendo Power US comics that were released. So there, lotsa comics! Whoo!
