Mii Channel - regional differences?

Now that the worldwide Mii Contest / Check Mii Out Channel is available, I'm noticing that some characters have hair or other facial features not available in my Mii Channel.

Does anyone know if there are, for certain, regional variations between Mii Channel features? Or is there some kind of pack where you can upload more facial features? I feel like I don't have enough types of moustache

It's possible. I can't find any documentation of any such differences though. I do know it's possible to rearrange eyebrows and such to look like different body parts like This Fella But as far as other Hair goes Possibly people abusing a DEV version of Mii channel 2.0?

Some people use eyebrows as mustaches (and vice versa). That's probably what you saw.

Yeah, perhaps. It was the Luigi-without-his-cap competition that got me. There were loads of moustaches I hadn't seen before. And I was muchly jealous.

My Luigi used a moustache combined with a mouth to extend the moustache (and then the pimple-thing for a mouth).

It was also a female, but eh, whatever.
