First off, this is no idea or rumor thread, it's a real game. It was announced this week by Famitsu and Barbera the bat is back. Here's the games features and magazine scan. Band Brothers DX(DS/Nintendo/6-26) * Over 30 tracks chosen from classical and J-pop * Over 50 different instruments usable * NES is a usable instrument (A Famicom can be seen near the middle of the magazine scan at the bottom of the page). * Play guitar by strumming with the pen * Up to 6-player local jam sessions * Singing mode with karaoke for both base game and DLC * Over 100 tracks through DLC Magazine scan. What should be noted in the magazine scan is the picture of karaoke is that the lyrics are in Japanese and English. Now that's gotta mean something for localization. Also anyone/Fry interested in the idea of just making a single "new game announcements" thread. It's starting to get annoying having to create a new thread when a new game appears. Especially with the Nintendo Media Summit on April 10th, hopefully something gets announced there.

I saw that. It's a shame that the first Band Brothers wasn't released outside of Japan, as that would have greatly improved the chances of this being released worldwide.
And Edge magazine gave the original massively glowing reviews too.

Well.... Hope that Brawl is effective enough to bring this thing out from Japan...
Although if that's done, I'll probably stick with the Japanese version if I ever buy it.

I hope it makes it to America. Band Brothers looks cool; I remember see videos of people playing it on YouTube and wishing that I could play it too.

But what would the music be like? It's not like DDR where it's all techno/house stuff that mostly nobody enjoys It's J-Pop. Donkey Konga and Ouendan went under severe changes when they came out of Japan and we all know NOA is not good at picking music. They'll go for the most public domain and generic schlock they can find! So as awesome as it would be, I'd imagine NOA would NEVER be up to task on replacing the music library.

Yes. They kept the name "GB Music" as the name of Barbara's record shop in the first Band Brothers as well.

I'd love to see Band Brothers come over here. Great bet it won't happen, and if it does, we'll be jamming to Sk8er Boi.

Why'd things have to get so complicated? XD
*cough* Anyway, I do hope it arrives stateside, and that it comes uncut. I doubt it, but I can hope. More Jamiroquai wouldn't be bad, I guess. Liked them in my youthful days.

Here's another magazine scan and some info on the speaker channel for the Wii. - download a “Speaker Channel” to your Wii, via the Wii Shop channel - Speaker Channel allows you to play your music through the TV - no confirmation on price of channel, may be free - upload compositions to a server in order to share your work with others Source.

Yes. They kept the name "GB Music" as the name of Barbara's record shop in the first Band Brothers as well. Explained in the Brawl trophy actually. It stands for "Great Barbara". Also, I'd love to see this stateside. The original was suppose to come here, but never did. If it does, I'm hoping for some Duran Duran

Forgot to mention this before but the website for Band Bros DX is up as well. Also there appears to be a track named "Song of Ashley" which I think could be the Ashley's Song from WarioWare, it also has a mention in the karoke section of the game as well.
