Which Shirt/Overalls do you like better on Mario?
His Super Mario Bros./2 Japan Look? (Brown shirt, Red Overalls)
His Super Mario Bros. 2/USA/3 look? (Blue Shirt, Red Overalls)
Or, the look he used from Super Mario World to Present day? (Red shirt, Blue Overalls)

I like the red shirt/blue overalls.
When I was younger, however, I did prefer the blue shirt/red overalls.
I never understood why he had the brown shirt in the original SMB. The artwork never showed a brown shirt from what I can tell. I could be wrong, though.
(Actually, Luigi's shirt in this avatar looks brown, doesn't it?)

Yes, I was never comfortable with the idea of red dungarees. Blue ones are so much less flamboyant... and Mario's supposed to be a dull and ugly-looking kind of fellow, but one who has excellent adventures anyway.
Besides... red dungarees would be a bugger to wash.

Luigi's clothes have changed the most - he was wearing white overalls and a green jumper at one stage...
Then he went green and blue, and now he's got a different blue to Mario...

I never really liked SMB/SMB2 (JPN)'s look
his SMB2/3 (US) appearance was meh.

Maybe his shirt wasn't brown in SMB... maybe he'd just been unclogging a particularly filthy toilet before he went on his adventure.  That would explain why Peach looks so horribly disfigured at the end... she's trying to get away from the smell. |
