Because I don't feel comfortable about giving people my e-mail address. Under the field where you type your e-mail address, it clearly says: "Your email will stay hidden."... And besides, I don't think you even have to use a valid e-mail address.

Yes you do have to use a valid email address. They send you a email and before your signature appears, you have to click on the link in your email they send.

Err... 99.9% of all websites on the internet won't give you viruses, though quite a few do have advert cookies that download quietly and cause popups from time to time. The only way a website can transmit a virus to your computer is if you choose to download something, or on REALLY dodgy sites (we're talking porno and warez here) sometimes a cookie will download that causes popups that automatically start downloading things to your computer.
All I can suggest is to avoid downloading illegally pirated software and find a reliable porno site ;D
And check your computer from time to time with Lavasoft's AdAware and the Spybot: Search and Destroy adware filters. They're both free and when combined they release a superhero unlike any the world has ever known... CAPTAIN PLANET!! Oh wait.

When their powers combine...
I am... still getting popups. My computer has adware so badarse that they make other popups run away in fear.

Sounds like you need to use Hijack This to search your system for programs that are considered legitimate. I have a whole heap of programs used to keep this computer squeaky clean... and so long as I know exactly where I've been then I can clean it up again afterwards.
The war against viruses and adware starts at home!

I use AdAware and love it! Firefox with the ad-on really works wonders for popups. :)
