Why didn't the GB Mobile Adaptor ever hit the other parts of the world? I mean, cell phones ARE cheaper there, but did they really have to do everything like butcher "Pokémon Crystal"? I swear, we never get a neat peripheral!

I think that's because it needed services not available on western phones. Japanese phones mostly don't work here because of big differences.

Each country seems to have developed its own mobile phone culture different to the rest of the world. In Britain, for instance, ownership of a mobile phone has become almost as compulsory as ownership of some trousers... although I am aware that in the US it has taken a lot longer for the idea to get off the ground. Adapting the mobile adapter to each of these markets would be a long and costly process. They would also hit new hurdles today with advice being doled out by the medical establishment not to allow children under 9 to have a mobile phone at all. That would spoil the Game Boy's plans for it somewhat. So wireless bluetooth networking it is then... yes?

I think I heard somewhere that it was because here in the UK, we have lots of phone companies (probably true in the USA too) such as O2, Vodafone, Orange, 3, whereas in Japan, it has just one big company with very little competition, so the mobile adaptors were just compatable with that company. I think thats it

Not true, in Japan you have about the same ammount of providers. he only difference is that western providers can't be used on Japanese phones.
