Wario's Woods has to win some sort of award for "most obscure background characters used as main characters". Seriuosly. It had Wario (the least obscure, which is saying something considering when it was made), Toad, Birdo and that Fairy (forget its name) from Mario vs. Wario (wait, is that its name? I've had a mental blank. You know, the bucket one).

The bucket game is Mario and Wario, and the fairy is called Wanda.

Wasn't that more of a "tile bassed" game?

Dr. Mario is also one of my favourite block-based games

Wasn't that more of a "tile bassed" game? No, blocks moved in from the top and side and you had to clear them by moving rows around. If Yoshi's Cookie doesn't count then neither should Polarium, Tetris Attack, etc... which is just silly.

I guess it's include alot of the mini-games in SM64DS then.

I wonder why Nintendo didn't include Tetris in Nintendo Puzzle Collection. If they could Include Dr. Mario 64, Yoshi's Cookie, and Panel de Pon, then they could include Tetris, since they all relate to it

Possibly because the rights to it are held by Bullet Proof Software (but then, technically, so is Yoshi's Cookie)... I'm more surprised they didn't try and include more obviously Nintendo games, like Wario's Woods and Yoshi.

I'm surprised they released 3 NES / SNES style puzzle games on the GCN. They should release a new set for the DS with as many different games as possible.

Actually, among those 3 games, only 1 of them comes directly from SNES. Panel de Pon is actually modified from Pokemon Puzzle League with the addition of the 4-Player mode, and Dr Mario is obviously from Dr Mario 64. Since DS uses the + control pad (I'm surprised that this is still used in a system for 3D games), it is suitable for a lot of puzzle games (and remakes). I especially want another Panepon remake where you can use te stylus for swapping - although I'd like button control more.

But all 3 existed in one form or another on the NES and the SNES.

Dr. Mario's been remade for nearly every system Nintendo has ever made. Tetris Attack, sadly, has not. Boooo.

Tetris Attack would work well on the DS, so maybe we can see a new version soon. Wonder who the characters in it will be? Hell, they’ll probably be from Ice Climbers.
