Right, this has been sitting in my inbox for quite some time, and I've never gotten around to properly following it up...
Someone sent me a screenshot from Mario Artist: Polygon Studio, which has a subsection of silly minigames in it. The screenshot was instantly familiar as one of the first microgames in WarioWare, inc. - the "Stop Me" one with a rotating Wario (only Wario was replacing a car).
I've just had this doubly confirmed by Edge magazine which has a feature and interview with the WarioWare creators. Only this has expanded it somewhat to say seven of Wario's first set of microgames started their life in Polygon Studio. Now I'm trying to find out what these might be, but there is scarce information on the game (or the 64DD in general).
Can anyone help or expand on this?

Well, Polygon Studio was released, so if you could read Japanese, you could buy an import, or download a ROM..but you aren't THAT desperate, are you?

Never mind, I found a website with details and screenshots of each of the games. Good stuff. I will put something up in due time.

I recognise 5 of them only. Shame.

Hmm... well, I think I recognise them all... though, I'm not sure about the last one or the one on the purple background.

Why, are they from Wario Ware?

I've added them all to WarioWare's Cameos & References page today. Two of them I can't identify: the maze one (third to last) and the fly catching one (last). The OTHER one that seems to be causing trouble was turned into the Dodge the Cars game in WarioWare, where you have to move Wario left and right to avoid traffic.

Perhaps it's like Fly Swatter or whatever. That's the closest to fly catching I can think of.

I checked the page and the title of the section should not be called "9-Volt's microgames"

Once again the demons of Copy-Paste raise their ugly heads.
