They had no sequel on the GCN and there doesn't seem to be any hope for one on the revoloution, but instead we get wave race blue storms...I'm not saying it's a bad game, but if Nintendo could release a wave race sequel, why can't they make one for Pilot wings?

Oh... They did make sequels for Wave Race and 1080! So maybe you're right... we need one for Pilot Wing.

A fun thing to see you two interacting with simple words and emoticons.
And I think they may probably make Wave Race another near-launch or launch for the Rev. And as for 1080, it should be in 2 or 3 years later... just like what happened on GC.
Things may happen the same as what happened these years, seeing the developer relations are quite the same.

I suppose the step from 2D to 3D was a big step for Pilotwings (hence Pilotwings 64)... but maybe they're waiting for photorealistic landscapes before they try for a third

I never actually played 64 yet. I played the original, but it's really only a blur to me, it was okay, but nothing memorable. You honestly can't just assume a franchise is over until the fat lady sings. And no fat lady seems to be singing. Much like the Metroid franchise. It stopped at SNES, and then came back on GameCube and Game Boy Advance. That shows that a game could easily pop up on the Revolution, after only making an appearance on SNES, then N64.

I remember when N64 first came out, my friend's dad rented it for us (though really himself) to play while I slept over. My. God. It was amazing. Seeing Mario 64... holding the controller... all for the first time. And Pilotwings was incredible, flying through the air in full 3D. Even though I never particularly was a fan of Pilotwings, the 64 version holds a very special place within my heart. Those were the days But, anyways, last I heard, Factor 5 wanted to work on it for the Rev, but they were recently coerced into working on the PS3 and dropping support for Nintendo instead. So, in other words, no Wings

Fliptroopa... you GROSSLY misread (or you read a bunch of confused lies). Factor 5 said they were interested in working on a Pilotwings game, but have since stopped working on the current generation of consoles. A load of Nintendo fans jumped to the conclusion that they weren't supporting Nintendo ever again - even though they simply said they weren't supporting ANY of the current consoles so they could work on next-gen. But the chances of them actually working on Pilotwings 3 now is still slim... but would be a match made in heaven

I'm actually wondering that quite a lot of develop actually can't escape from making games on Nintendo consoles... including Rare (Look at the GBA games!). Most of them only leave out GC, not all of its consoles. At the time, he downplayed speculation the studio would abandon Nintendo. "We are extremely excited about both DS and GCNext, so any talk of us abandoning Nintendo platforms altogether is just not true," he told GameSpot, apparently speaking too soon. I will NEVER ever trust "big" game sites again.
