Great game for SNES and got a few things to ask y'all. Have you seen this video of this guy who beats SUPER MARIO 3 in 11 minutes? if you haven't heres the video (if this has been about somewhere else in the forum, I apologize) www.thatvideosite.com/view/67.htmlThere is a bit of controversy of whether this video is fake or not, what do you think? kinda crazy but i believe it. Also: has anyone completed Super Mario: Lost Levels and the Star World on Super Mario World 1? Appreciate your comments/opinions all!

It is indeed a great game.
I've completed both the Lost Levels and the Star World that you refer to, as I belive most Mario fans have.
Is there something specific you want to know about them?

I thought the "fake" video had been confirmed as such. So while it's feasibly possible to play the game in that time, the video has been cut and pasted from several runs the guy did.

Not really. After you completed the star world all the enemies and objects turn into mario heads and such don't they? What happens if you complete that world, because i never got around to doing it...
Yeah, come to think of it, it would be pretty hard to memerize the courses like that one by one. I never knew that you could get 1 magical whistle in World1 let alone 2!! Is this possible on the european/US version of the game? I might go and try that out...

No, you're thinking of Super Mario World, when you complete the Special Zone.

Hey, I tried the trick thingy on Super Mario 3, took me a few goes cuz I didnt reallly understand what you had to do. My new completion record is 40mins which I thought was pretty good for me which I did at lunch time.

My record in Super Mario World is 15 minutes, using the Star Road levels to get to Bowser.
I haven't tried SMB3 before, but I imagine with both whistles it would be possible in less than 20 minutes... so long as you don't keep dying in that damn speedy airship level!

I don't know what my record is, but I can guarantee it's not 15 minutes.

I would have done it quicker myself, but I kept dying on those military boat thingys. Oh well, im sure if I can find the time I will give it another go, SSB3 is one of my favourite replay games. Along with the whole Allstars game!
Funny, my SNES is plugged in rather than my GC. I guess I just got addicted to my Super Gameboy, for which I can pick up cheap but classical games from my local store for pennies...

Great game. Played it about a week ago. I think me and friend noticed some diferences from SMB and this edition(not including graphics), but I forgot what they were.

One difference is that the games are not running "exact" replicas of the original game engines. For instance, in the first SMB (All-stars version), when Super Mario breaks bricks, he goes through the block just a bit rather than ricocheting off of it like he did in the original version.

Also, an extra block has been added above the pipe in the underwater sections, to prevent the glitch that allowed you to get trapped by crouching on the ground, then swimming (while crouched) above the pipe.
