Does anyone remember the game tetris attack ? you flipped the tiles to match 3 or more and when you did you would throw a block on the other side ( computer or friend), it's been 10 years, maybe even more. ? I loved that game, and I was wondering if that game is around, or something similar to it.... maybe even downloadable... mscoolwoodfinish

That's a game from the Panepon series. It's actually quite inappropriate to call it "Tetris Attack"... Strange NoA marketing, I'd say.
I've seen a playable Flash Panepon demo somewhere, but I forgot where to see it.
The most recent version of this game is Dr Mario & Puzzle League, and you can probably obtain this game at any places specialized in GBA game selling.

OK
Panepon is a series of Tetris or Nintendo or both? That was the name on the cartridge we put in the machine (Nintendo - probably the very first one they came out with, not even a 64), I was talking to my daughter about it, she remember, but she doesn't remember what happen to it unfortunately.

Let me make this clear: (1) Panepon is a series developed by Intellegent Systems and the games are published by Nintendo. (2) Other than the name, the game has NOTHING to do with Tetris. (3) To be precise, Tetris Attack is the name of the software - the game itself, not the cartridge.
Tetris Attack is a game for Super Nintendo (not NES or 64). I think you can hardly buy this game again if you don't have a old game store nearby. If you want to enjoy bthe game again, I suggest you to buy Dr Mario & Puzzle League. Despite the name, Puzzle League IS a Panepon game just like Tetris Attack.

Puzzle League gets rid of all the Yoshi goodness, though. There is a version of the SNES Tetris Attack for GameBoy, you can look for that. Oh, and if you just like the game, and don't care about the Yoshi's Island vibe, there's a Gameboy Color and N64 version: Pokemon Puzzle League. I think the GBC one is Puzzle Challenge.
They just rehashed it for GBA with Dr. Mario, yeah, but it removes all characters and is just a straight up, well... game. It also was included in the Japan-only package Nintendo Puzzle Collection for Gamecube in a close-to-original form as Panel de Pon, but you need to import that.

Yes, Tetris Attack - the game itself - has been rereleased a number of times on different formats. To see all occasions when it has been rereleased, check the Panepon Series Game List (As Panepon is what the series is known as in Japan). It's possibly one of my favourite puzzle games, and while I love the game itself, there is something extra special about the Yoshi's Island characters being in the SNES version.

I think I beat Normal mode, but never beat Hard Mode. My sister was obsessed with the game for a while.
