I always thought the original art for Snake looked so much like Kyle Reese from the movie The Terminator.
I never got into Metal Gear much. I remember an old friend showed it to me way back then, but I never really "got it." I picked up a used copy for myself several years later, but I still found it dull. Plus, isn't there one puzzle in the game where you're required to make your way through a "lost woods" type screen, but the game gives you absolutely no hints as to how you're supposed to get through it? That's pretty poor game design.

It could be worse. This is the first Metal Gear game I played. It sucked.

I always thought the original art for Snake looked so much like Kyle Reese from the movie The Terminator. Funny that you should say that ;D I been knowing this from day one as I got my first Metal Gear game for the NES later on the MSX2 I always wonder where did I see this image on the box cover of Soild Snake will now for anyone wanted to know here's the proof of my discovery (note this maybe old news to some of you true fans but bare with me for any one else dont know) on the right side is the post-production movie photo of actor Michael Beihn as Kyle Reese on the set of 1984 Termainator and on the right is a scan image of Solid Snake on the NES box game of Metal Gear. And now you know.

Heh-heh. Finally, proof! Good thing they didn't keep that design, but the current Snake is more like Snake Plissken from Escape From New York/L.A.. His voice sounds just like Kurt Russel's from those movies, and hey, they're both named "Snake!"
I didn't mean to bad mouth MG too much. I still shelled out the cash for Twin Snakes on the Gamecube. I just didn't really get into the Metal Gear games.
