www.gamesetwatch.com/2006/06/garage_sales_unearths_nintendo.phpSo lucky guy found prototypes for Mother, Tetris, and the fabled Zelda III. The greatest find, though, is the only known copy of Nintendo Campus Challenge. Anyone ever heard of it? It seems to be a modified version of Super Mario Bros. 3. Or how about those five Star Fox games? The article calls them Star Fox Competitions. The labels say Star Fox Super Weekend.

May I take that as a sign you know as little about all this as I? Edit: I found out a bit about the Campus Championship. Apparently, Nintendo went around to a bunch of colleges in a tournament offering a trip to Florida as the prize for winning. www.planetnintendo.com/thewarpzone/campus.htmlEDIT: Fixed the link.

I remember the Super Star Fox Competition Weekend. It was basically a promotional thing for Star Fox. Just a timed, five-minute version of the game. After the contest ended, NoA actually sold off the cartridges itself through Nintendo Power's "Super Power Supplies" catalog. Check here for more info.

As for the NES Zelda III, there is at leasdt one person that still claims to own a copy. Whether he's lying or not, I don't know. However, I think this Zelda III is a prototype for a Link to the Past since it's a SNES cartridge.

Uh-wow. This guy is lucky isn't he?
Never heard of Nintendo Campus Challenge though. As for StarFox Competiton, there are ROMs out there already, so.... no need to wait for this, Fry. And I doubt if there'll ever be a ROM release for Nintendo Campus Challenge. If I am the owner of the game, I won't be dupping it into ROM images !!
