We know these well. Cause if they ever get revived one day, they could obviously use some fine-tuning and what-not. Ice Climber: What with their total revival in Melee and new abilities from it, why in the hell not? Backstory, gameplay modes, more distinct level design, animal friends (Looking at you, DK and Kirby), and more things to explore would do the trick. Balloon Fight: More than just a multiplayer fest. A Story Mode would work nicely. Who is leading all these....let's say, "Rogue Ballooners"? What is at stake? And so forth. Clu Clu Land: Gameplay is good, but...More allies of Bubbles and more enemy characters of that Sea Urchin gang. The plot, of course, shouldn't often/normally stay as "Sea Urchins steal hide all the treasure" (Kind of like "Bowser kidnaps Peach" for many of the Mario platformers). Mach Rider: Ahahahahaha......Personally, for some reason, I see this as a rip take on good ol' Speed Racer. (Bah, go see for yourself. Kind of) Leader of the Quadrunners? (Probably "Rider X", who could be a fierce rival of Mach Rider's..."dark" version of him, perhaps. On second thought....Ahem, slowing down there ;D) New allies for Mach Rider? All new Play/Race Modes? Another threat in the next game in the series? Kid Icarus: Gah, we all knew it. It sure had sort of a Zelda-esque feel to it, so another game or two in this series (mainly of the same format as Ocarina of Time) would work well. See, Star Fox may not have all that many games as Mario, Kirby, etc., but it sure worked wonders with such a small amount.

Haven't we done this topic before?
The unused game with the most potential, obviously, is Kid Icarus. But loads of games could be revived in one form or another. Some would work better as handhelds, while some would have their core elements expanded.
In fact, Balloon Fight has expanded into Balloon Kid, Clu Clu Land has expanded into DK: King of Swing, Wrecking Crew into Wrecking Crew '98... it's already happening to some degree.

How about an update of Excite Bike?
Theres an unrelated game under construction for the Wii called Excite Truck, but the tilt sensors would be flippin' brilliant for a motorcycle game.

Ay, Kid Icarus lends itself to an awesome blend of a 3D Zelda-styled game, loaded with puzzles, enemy fights and spectacular boss battles combined with a 3D Mario-esque platformer, thanks to Pit's wings and jumping ability. It easily could happen.
Mach Rider could go a sandbox route. That is, you could control Mach Rider off his bike and roam around futuristic cities, giving him some off-bike weapons and abilities, and offer up some RPG-like experience for both on and off-bike sections. When Mach Rider uses his bike, imagine the original game but much more evolved. A game I think that has the driving combat nailed down is Body Harvest, but MR would be much tighter and offer some neat tricks. Maybe have Mach Rider separate the bike as an ability instead of a death animation to dodge incoming blasts.
A franchise I'd like to see reborn in some way is Star Tropics. The potential to remake the two games into 3D are pretty high, and while Zoda's Revenge has the weaker storyline, one could easily revamp it to be more than what it was (it did have some charms, I'll admit). Imagine the main world as being completely explorable (instead of being a tiny Mike moving from an overhead persepctive), with some new enemy designs and tons more secrets to find. The submarine could do much more than it could before, maybe even explore some underwater elements. And the dungeons would be similar to the originals, but offer new traps, puzzles and weapon implimenting (using the Horsehide to throw into a switch, or reflecting a blast from something with the Bat). Zoda's Revenge would carry over ST's weapon set, as well as give Mike the default Psychic Bolt as a kind of magic that improves over time or as Mike gains some sort of experience. I can see a lot of neat ways of making it work...but that's just some of my thoughts.

No we didn't, it was made by me, and I was asking which classic series that were represented in SSB should be revived.

I'd like to see River City Ransom and Solomon's Key continued.

Though a console generation later, I would really enjoy seeing another game in the (SNES)Chrono Trigger series for current gen systems. Anyone else here enjoy playing this game? If not, I recommend finding a copy and getting this team rpg that as the name implies lets you go forward and backward in time from 65,000,000 BC to 2300 A.D. there are plenty of things to do. Square Enix did a good job on it, including multiple endings.

What with Pit's wings, that would lend well to a Super Mario Sunshine-esque setup with the ability to do a lot of slow descents. A sort of combo between Zelda and Mario gameplay would be neat. Just as long as the inherent style of Kid Icarus remains strictly separate. Kid Icarus shouldn't lose the Greek angle to fit in with more conventional fantasy.

Kid Icarus should be one part Zelda, one part Mario, and one part Pilot Wings. Think about it.
