Play-Asia has a rather awesome weekly special this week... Densetsu no Stafi 2 for no more than ten bucks. I've always wanted to play one of the Stafi/Starfy games so this seems like a pretty great deal. But before buying it... how good is it? And is it playable without knowing Japanese?

I don't know about the second one, but if it's anything like the first one, I'd say it's worth it. That game was a lot of fun, and not knowing Japanese didn't slow my progress one bit. And even if you do get stuck because of the language, there's always GameFAQs.

As far as I can tell, it's quite wordy, but also illustrated well, so you don't necessarily have to read Japanese to understand what a character wants of you.
I enjoy them. They're quite quirky, and I've never quite understood why they were never given a release outside of Japan.

What system is it for? Make sure region codes don't turn your Game Boy or DS into a smoldering mess!

W-whoa! I'm pretty sure the GBA and DS don't have region protection. Playing an imported GBA game on a DS shouldn't give any problems either, right?
Well, I think I'll be ordering this soon then. Awesome. I've done some browsing around on Play-Asia and they've got some cheap and awesome GameCube games as well. I really want Giftpia but it seems to be pretty heavy on Japanese text.

They don't have region protection. Go nuts.
