When I read that Pokemon was banned, I was shocked. According to this article, the government of Saudi Arabia was the one to ban it. The games six-pointed stars (I'm guessing this is the sign for Normal Pokemon) promote Zionism and the game promotes gambling (the Game Corner).

Winnie the Pooh also got banned in Saudi Arabia because pigs are unclean and Piglet can't be one of the main guys or some shit so no surprise here.

Since Pokemon's been banned and toys have been burned for some time now (I remember hearing events like this since Late Red&Blue era and into the GS days) I'm surprised it's still happening. Just let Pokemon die down or give me my damn GS remakes for the DS.

Heh, people banning video games because of symbols totally unrelated to political nor religious statements simply because the symbols are similar. Silly.
Although the context of video games that promotes different ideas such as gambling or killing, I do understand the concern. But that's the point of the ESRB (or whatever its called in other countries).

I thought Pokemon was banned somewhere in Eurasia 'cause some girl jumped out of a window believing she was a Pokemon. Something like that.
