I think they were NES games, but they might have been SNES games...
the first one I remember is a game where you have to avoid enemies and obstacles and go through levels that were essentially mazes of doors, and you'd have to find the exit (a door with the sign exit over it)
it is NOT one of the gauntlet games, or anything like them. all I remember is the last level was like sort of a haunted house, with ghosts and such... there were other levels, but the main goal of the game was to get to teh door with exit over it in each level (no it wasnt super mario world lol)
the other game was a space/strategy game. All I remember about that was there was a menu where you'd select stuff (such as the destination, your armaments, etc), and you'd travel from place to place, and eventually you'd end up in a fight where there would be some turret like things on the battlefield..
Im not sure, but I dont think there was direct control in-battle.
any help would be nice, but I dont think they were very popular games, and are probably very obscure ones...

Figuring out forgotten games is our specialty! For the first game, do you remember what perspective the game had? Was it side scrolling, overhead, etc? For the second, I'm always suggesting this for people trying to remember space games, but was it Elite? Or Destination Earthstar or Star Voyager? What was the perspective? Do you remember any other details?

thanks, and for the info:
the first one was side scrolling... I think you were just a normal guy as a main character..
as for the second one, nope, its none of those... this game had no direct control of the ship or space ship vs space ship battles. as far as i can recall battles were fought on planets, and you just selected where you wanted to go from a menu...
out of those you listed, I guess it was most similar to elite, but still different.
its been a long time since I've been able to play them (since the early 90's and Im only 18) so I can't remember too much more about them.

The first game could be Xenophobe. It was on the NES.

I realize this guy is long gone, but I feel kind of bad that we didn't figure out the games he was trying to remember. I mean, this kind of thing is supposed to be what we're good at, right? Did anyone else come up with any ideas of what he was looking for?

It probably was Xenophobe, and he's too stuck-up to thank me...

Usually we have something a bit more concrete to go on than this. These seem like very distant memories, possibly distorted by time. Lord knows I've misremembered many games in the past and been quite surprised when I've come back to them later. But what we have: Game 1NES or possibly SNES Side-scroller Avoid enemies or obstacles Go through mazes of doors Find exit doors Not Gauntlet(!!) Last level is a haunted house Game 2Space strategy game Equipment screen End up in a fight with turrets on the battlefield May not have been direct control in battle Not Elite, Destination Earthstar, Star Voyager Now, I'm curious about the age thing as well. If this was in the early 90's, and Spiroth is 18, then presumably Spiroth was 3-5 years old when he played these games. To be fair, I can only just remember the games I played when I was twice that age (of course I remember them all fondly now, because I found 'em and played 'em again). Now, I find it strange that a 3-5 year old would be playing a space strategy game to begin with... but regardless, we can keep on looking or press for more details. Especially on the first one, as apart from the maze of doors, that could be nearly any game on the NES and SNES

Just wanted to pop in and mention there's the possibility he played them when he was older, but just forgot their titles.
