*bumps very old topic* I haven't finished a lot of Nintendo fanart lately... But I'm going to change that right now!  www.deviantart.com/deviation/48765791/It's part of a larger project, so... expect more to come. At first I wasn't happy with the way the lines came out after scanning, so I had to come up with a shading style that'd match it. I was going to add some Wind Waker-style noise too, but in the end I liked the way the block colours looked. |

Coolness! Very clean I find DK is easy to draw, but tricky to get just right. It's the chin - and the size of his torso. There's a delicate balance there, for sure. |

Indeed... I redrew his whole... mouth area several times, and it still looks wrong. Still, good practice. ;D I've done a few more sketches this morning, and I'm seeing where I was going wrong... It didn't help that I was using the Mario Hoops art as reference. The pose doesn't really let you see his proportions properly. |
