Are you a fairly competent artist with lots of time on their hands?
I am interested in creating a comic strip featuring Ashley from WarioWare, but I find myself a bit short in the artistic department. I have a few script ideas (some of them are very vague at the moment, so you will also need an imaginative story-teller's brain).
At the moment, I would just like to see if there is any interest in this project, so feel free to post here. Also, could anyone tell me when Ashley's first appearance was, as I have only ever played Touched. I'm hoping for a vague origin here, so that I can fill the blanks.

Yeah, she's only appeared in WW Touched so far.

Welcome back, Nintyboyuno.
Can I see what's the comic strip about?

Well, its pretty much about the day-to-day life of Ashley, your evil neighborhood witch, and her pet demon Red. Wario will be cameo-ing every now and then, and I have just sorted out the fine detail on the origin storyline: "How Wario Met Ashley"
Its a pretty good script, now all I need is a pretty good artist to help collaborate, and somewhere to showcase it. Fryguy, if it turns out all right, could you perhaps stick it on the Database somewhere? Maybe a Fanfic section?
EDIT: Young Link, if you're interested, could you draw Ashley in various poses as an application?

Heh, but Nintendo Database does not have a fanfic section. Or a fanart section.
Out of curiosity, how big is this script? Are you wanting it to be turned into a comic, or an illustration? I may be interesting in drawing it up.

The story would probably be to big for a single illustration, and I'm working on the next storyline: Ashley Visits Forbidden Forest

I meant a story with multiple illustrations, rather than a single illustration. My bad ;D
But do you intend for it to be a comic or an illustrated story?

I have been thinking of the project as a comic strip, you know, splitting the story into regular installments, etc
EDIT: er...do you mean "illustrated story" as in lots of text with a few pix? If so, my gut reaction is a big no. Sorry.

I'm sorry, but I can't draw well. All I think I can do is to turn a comic into an animation if you're interested.... don't expect it'll come out really good though.
I could help if it's an animation, or possibly an illustrated story..... I just don't think I can do too well in comics.

EDIT: er...do you mean "illustrated story" as in lots of text with a few pix? If so, my gut reaction is a big no. Sorry. That is what I meant... but I wasn't asking you if I could do it like that... I was just asking what you were after. After all, a comic artist can do all sorts! More details required. How long do you intend the strips to be (how many boxes)? Are they to be in colour? Are you writing it in small one-joke chunks like a comic strip, or are you just running from one strip to the next (like pages in a comic book)? Maybe you could post a "first installment" (single strip text) so a few people could have a go. Just an idea.

Thats a very good idea!
The Great Ashley Chapter One - How Wario Met Ashley
First panel: Wario walking out of a dark alley, holding a scroll that he has obviously just bought off the black market. Very happy, big smile.
Second Panel: Wario holds the scroll up triumphantly, laughing, dollar signs in his eyes. Wario: "Waahahaha! What a steal! With this treasure map I'm gonna be rich! Waahahaha!"
Third Panel: Viewpoint switches to over his shoulder as he unfurls map, we get a glimpse of map details, including a big title that says "Haunted Hall" Wario: "mumble...second left...first right..."
Fourth Panel: Wario jumps into his big pink car with glee. Wario: "Your gold is mine, ghosties! Haunted Hall, here I come! Wahahaha!"
Fifth Panel: Wario drives off into the sunset. We still hear him laughing in the distance.
Sixth Panel: Black panel, white words: "To Be Continued..."
I'd like to try ending each regular stip with a bit of humour, but mostly it'll be "I can't wait to see what happens next!" type stuff. Oh, and colour would be good.

In terms of size, I would think the traditional six panel, three above three below setup would be fine. Of course, this would need to be reduced or enlarged in certain circumstances, especially the fight scenes...

Now I've got a brief idea on what's you working at. (Doesn't it sound similar to Wario Land 4's opening?)
Now what style will it be? colour pencils? cartoonish strip? Anime style? CG? Computer edited hand-drawn? There are a lot to choose from!

I would like it bold, beautiful, as cartoonish as the instruction manual, thick lines, expressive faces, er....pretty please anyone Oh, and about Wario Land 4, I think that opening was so cool, but I didn't consciously set out to copy it. I get my inspiration mostly from reading fantasy novels and webcomics. P.S. My favourite webcomics at the moment are Antihero for Hire, Adventurers!, and Ctrl+Alt+Del.

I'll have a go at it if I get time... two questions, though... do you want Wario to be drawn in traditional Wario style, or WarioWare style? And does anyone know where I can find a picture of his car for reference?
