Hello, guys.
I am a very big fan of video game music and unfortunately, Nintendo doesn't distribute any video game cds in the US. However, I recently bought the Famicom 20th Anni. Original Soundtracks Vol. 1. I got it in the mail just two days ago (from Japan) and I can't get enough! So finally, I am coming to the point of this topic.
Is anyone offering for sale or have the "Game Sound Museum ~Famicom Edition~ 06 Ice Climber"?
This came out only in Japan last year and came with 9 other randomly assorted 8 cm (4 in.) cds in a big box and it also came with yogurt-favored candy. It's out of print. Thanks for reading this. PS, Fryguy, if this is in the wrong forum, would you put it in the correct one for me?

I think you're fine with this in here.

I hope the soundtracks are released outside Japan. If you want to have these CDs outside Japan, one of the way is to check through auction sites. I've heard that someone got his Club Nintendo Luigi-coloured controller mailed through auction.

If you didn't want fancy packaging, you could download a USF/NSF/SPC/GBS package, convert it to MP3, and burn it onto a CD. Because I use Audio Overload, it's harder to make NSF & GBS tracks.

Several questions here.
How do I play NSF files? I heard someone say they use "Winamp", however I don't know what exactly Winamp is.
How do I convert NSF files to MP3s?
Can CD players play another format besides MP3?
What files does the Famicom Disk System use for sound effects and music?

Winamp is a music player, look here: www.winamp.comThere are some plug-ins for that program that allow you to play NSF files, and probably also some for other file formats. I don't know how to do this, but when I did a quick Google search I found this site: forums.nesfiles.com/viewtopic.php?t=325. Scroll down a bit and you can see how that guy converted the NSF files into MP3... Not sure... I think they can also play WAV files. I assume they use NSF files too, but again, I'm not sure.

Several questions here. Can CD players play another format besides MP3? What files does the Famicom Disk System use for sound effects and music? Some MP3 Players can play WAV, MP3 and WMA - the 3 basic formats for Windows Media Player. Some even more advanced ones suupports MIDI. I don't know if there are any audio players that play AIFF files. If you talk about CD players only, then, sorry, even MP3 files are not supported by all models. Famicom Disk System ROMs are basically the splitted version of normal Famicon games. For the sound format, it should be the same.
