I've been playing Trace Memory and wanted to mention some cameos I found. You probably have found them already, but possibly not.
In the Golden Bird Room in chapter two before you take the E Book you can read the title of a book on the shelf. It's called 'Path of Radiance", subtitle of the Fire Emblem game. Then go in the Silver Bird Room and on the shelf with the N Book you can find a book called "The Legend of Zelda Chronology."
I'm playing through my second time, now. I'll see if there's any other books.

Really? Cool, no. I missed all of those. I was keeping my eyes wide open for cameos as well. AND I was stuck on the bookshelf puzzle for AGES.
But you may be referring to the other bookshelf puzzle. Regardless... I'll crack open the game later on (when my DS has recharged).
The puzzle with the piano. The books you use to find what you have to play. They are on the shelves where you find those book.(Only the "E" and "N" books, they don't let you check the books with the third book)
You're probably talking about the other bookshelf puzzle? The one with the key hidden in a book?

Rightoh. That's much sooner in the game. ;D
That second puzzle had me tearing my hair out for hours on end. I can't even remember if I solved it, or if I just got lucky.
But remember you have to look at the books BEFORE you take the "E" and "N" books. If you pick them up it won't let you look at the shelf.
The puzzle that gave me the most trouble was probably the broken pencil puzzle. Now that I've done it I can't believe I missed it the first time through the game. (And I think I got a bad ending for missing it.) The stamp puzzle had me confused for a little while, too.

Are you playing a different version to me or something? Like a US version or anything?
In mine they're just all called "old books"
Yes, it's the US version. Here's what all the books are called(From left to right):
Path of Radiance Fauvism: A History Fundamentals of Oil Painting Anatomy of an Artist E Book Working Outside Your Medium Fine Points of Figure Drawing The Many Faces of Watercolor
The Secret Lives of Plants Landscape Painting for Novices The Legend of Zelda Chronology A History of Battle Tactics Narrative: A Reference Guide N Book Ivy Manual of Style Tracing Bloodlines The Craft of Creative Writing Advanced Composition How to Write Dialogue A Feast of Words
nocturnal YL: I'm… not sure if I'll read your spoiler discussions. I don't think I'll get the chance to play this, but at the same time, I'm not entirely sure I won't, either.

nocturnal YL: I have yet another pile of games waiting to be played. Due to various circumstances (I'm busy at work, this month's weekends are filled with family events, and Project DIVA Mega Mix just got new DLC), I'm not able to play them yet.
Sept 4, 2022 11:30:56 GMT -5
nocturnal YL: I'm currently at 34 Switch games played. I've been thinking about my Switch review videos and I'll make another at 36 or 40 games. Leaning towards 36.

nocturnal YL: I actually wanted to remake the older ones as well. I didn't notice that the 2nd video had volume issues in the audio until I have my current PC.

Nester the Lark: If you're thinking of playing Xenoblade Chronicles 3, then definitely *don't* read the late-game spoilers I posted.

Shrikeswind: So I assume everyone here's heard the news but for those who haven't, Queen Elizabeth died today.

Shrikeswind: I learned on the way home from work today - I stopped in at a McDonalds for lunch, was checking the news in line, and...well, there it was.

Nester the Lark: I knew it was serious when I heard the whole royal family dropped whatever they were doing to be by her side.

Nester the Lark: I'm not British, but there's never not been a Queen of England during my lifetime (and indeed, most of a lifetime before that), so even though I knew it had to happen eventually, it still feels a little weird.

Nester the Lark: I guess there is still the "Queen Consort," but I'm talking about how there's a King now.
Sept 9, 2022 9:13:49 GMT -5
Nester the Lark: Well, a lot to take in there. I'll post my impressions either later or tomorrow.
Sept 13, 2022 9:47:11 GMT -5
Nester the Lark: The English lip sync in Xenoblade Chronicles 3 has spoiled me. I was hoping Fire Emblem: Engage would have it, too, but comparing the English and Japanese trailers, it doesn't seem to be the case.
Sept 19, 2022 8:44:03 GMT -5
Nester the Lark: Wondering if I should create a thread for Fire Emblem: Engage, or just talk about it in the general Fire Emblem thread...
Sept 19, 2022 8:55:44 GMT -5
Nester the Lark: Nintendo has had a good rhythm with their releases. When I'm tired of Xenoblade, they release a new Fire Emblem. When I'm tired of Fire Emblem, they release a new Xenoblade. When I'm tired of both, they release a new Zelda.

nocturnal YL: Super Mario Galaxy 2 is a relatively new game in terms of TAS, so it usually doesn't look as impressive as Super Mario 64. But sometimes we get stuff like this: Cosmic Cove Green Star 1 in 20.58s

nocturnal YL: I'm about to start on my next review video. I'll use the same 1080p-in-1440p format (so that the caption is separate from the game clips), and I'm wondering if I can make better use of the left and right edges. I probably can't think of anything though.
Oct 15, 2022 0:53:24 GMT -5
Nester the Lark: Apologies for my silence lately. I have a lot going on IRL right now.
Oct 17, 2022 8:32:08 GMT -5
nocturnal YL: I'm not busy or anything, but I don't really have anything substantial to say either. I'm in Fire Emblem mood now, playing Warriors 3H and really looking forward to Engage, but I'll save discussions for later.
Nov 24, 2022 9:41:21 GMT -5
nocturnal YL: Also in case people don't read Nester's Twitter, his issue is that he has lost Internet connection after moving to a place no ISP seems to serve.
