In Animal Crossing: WIld World, the light blue hat, has a dolphin on it, and it also looks like it has the world dolphin above it.
I wish I could get a picture, but I'm poor (on Animal Crossing XD) and I dont have any bells, and I don't even have a webcam. You canprobably scan it from the official guide causeit hasa picture of it there though.

Well, the game's not out here yet, so we don't have a strategy guide either.
But sounds interesting. A bit odd that dolphin references are still going when the Gamecube is on the way out...

I got one of those, didn't realise it was a dolphin though.

Actually I think the use of dolphins is already not merely GC cameos, but rather a somewhat usual practise used by Nintendo. They just use dolphins everywhere, using those to represent, perhaps, Nintendo themselves instead of just DOL-001.
And because of this, I don't think we should still continue to include dolphin cameos.

I don't think Nintendo use it to refer to themselves... but I think we may continue seeing dolphin cameos.
But I may stop accepting them unless they're on a Gamecube or late N64 game... otherwise they kinda lose their point.

Not every dolphin in a Nintendo game is a reference to the former GameCube name. They'd just put an image of a dolphin on a hat, that's all.

Well, I'm not in agreement that the dolphin represents Nintendo itself... as that makes no sense.
I expect we will stop seeing Dolphin references nearly as often. Dolphins appeared in several pre-N64 Nintendo games, and will no doubt continue to appear.
So I am sticking to my guns. We will only accept cameos for this section from this moment on if:
A) They appear in a late N64 or Gamecube game, or B) The reference is unmistakably a reference to the Gamecube (eg. a character calling the Gamecube console Dolphin, or something).
