Aside from the last two notes I think it works almost perfectly. Man if this is accepted as the song, it opens up a ton of possibilities as to where the song is hidden in the remaining titles... especially Wii Music.

Yeah, the last couple notes don't really fit...but if this is the same for every new match, I'd believe it.

I need to see a spectral analysis before marking this one as true.

Woah woah, by playing the racket sounds alongside the actual song, of course it sounds a bit like it. The fact the sound effects are so very slightly different they barely stand out as distinct notes. Then start playing them out of the order of the rhythm. Can you really argue that it's Totaka's Song? Couldn't you do that with just about any sound effects? I am far from convinced of this. Still... Gotta love all the free advertising ;D Edit: I have gone into a bit more detail why I won't be adding this to the site in NinDB news.

I got an email about Totaka's Song in Wii Sports! It's so great I thought I'd share it!
Now, while I don't normally jump to the commands of people who call me "fag", I was considering doing a rebuke video anyway. Sadly, my video software is ballsack and my ability to get a rally going in Wii Sports is almost as ballsack.
Any ideas?

The guys at GT commented on some of the criticisms "Considering that video and the analysis from Melodyne posted on NeoGAF, I think it's only right to update the episode when we're back in the office next week with this information, as well as change the verdict. I'll leave in a line saying we originally believed it to be fact so we're not skirting around our initial assertion. And honestly, I'm actually quite happy people cared enough to dig further. Yes, we should have considered these options in the first place, and going forward, when it comes to a judgement call rather than indisputable evidence, we're going to use the Inconclusive verdict." ~ MikeGT forums.gametrailers.com/thread/pop-fiction/1062740?page=26

Ah, marvellous. And that video someone made showing the sound effects as they would sound if the notes were the same is a load off my mind

I like how he just immediately starts with the insult. That'll convince 'em!

So while it's sad that we're back to square 1, at least we have a whole new set of people informed about the song and beavering away on it! ;D

Cool, I knew it was suspect when I looked at the waveforms and the same notes didn't match, nor was there any clear pitch shifting (just different waveforms and altered volume).

Leave them eat their dust and just don't add that whole thing... though you can even do it better and prove dem insulting email guys wrong. (As I can see being done here now.)
