After chapter 7, Bowser will make his was to Polshey Hights. When he attepts to steal the Crystal Star from the sactrum, Pennington acuses him of being a theif. Bowser says he's not, and you can reply with one of three options(as usual). One of the is "Shadow Theif". A reference to Mario and Luigi, when Bowser lost his memory and joined up with the Shadow their(who's real name slips me).

You mean Popple? Really? That seems possible, but also would constitute as one of Nintendo's most subtle in-series references ever.

Jeez, I noticed that years ago. I wouldn't count that as a cameo, I'd count it as continuity. Or else any Tingle reference would be posted up here for continuity being cameos.
Chuckola Cola was an NOA added reference unless the soda was red wine in Japan for M&L as in the Japanese translation by fans it's known as Vintage Red. I imagine since it's only a year apart it was easier to make M&L references a lot, although there were given ones too. M&L2 returns the favor a good three or four times.

Why would it be continuity? Tingle is a recuring character, but this is a name reference, and is more so talk about another character or event. It the same as those cameo that have "It's Dangerous to go alone".
