In my efforts to get together some kind of workable Secrets & Cheats thing, you may have noticed I've opted for a new name: Easter Eggs.
This means I won't be including any information that will spoil the games (eg. game guides, level passwords, basic tips), and I won't be including glitches. Also out of the picture will be things unlockable through normal gameplay (though I may make an exception for the Smash Bros. games)
So what am I including? Well, Nintendo games include plenty of secrets tucked away in the games. This may include button codes, secret areas (warp zones) or really tough-to-get things, like the secret message in Metroid Fusion, or the Chris Houlihan room in Zelda: LttP. Look over some of the things I've included in the NES section for ideas.
So... know of any Easter Eggs in Nintendo games?

Thumbs up to that idea. ;D
That's the sort of stuff that gives me that re-playability factor.

Secret message in Fusion? Explain now, Fryguy.
But that sounds good to me. I like Easter Eggs. And not just the chocolate kind, though those aren't too bad either.

Allow me - at a certain point in Fusion you are able to break the sequence of the game slightly (well, actually, you can do it quite a bit in all 2D Metroid games) at a certain point where you can enter a room that usually requires you to collect a certain upgrade, but without the upgrade. You are rewarded with a view of that computer terminal Adam (best name ever - I wonder why? ) and that silhouette of the Galactic Federation guy - they say something like "Ooo, I wonder if anyone will get to read this..." or something, and it's a cool little Easter Egg. I've played through the game before, but never found the Easter Egg myself - I read about it somewhere. Ask Fryguy where to find it. End! ;D

What's an Easter Egg?
Say, the records in Multi-Man Melee can be decreased (especially for endless and curel), are they Easter Eggs?

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Easter_egg_%28virtual%29Easter Eggs, basically, are little things in a game which basicly have no function other than to make you go "wow - look at that". I don't know how to explain them well, but yeah, you sort of get what I'm saying. What you said would be a glitch if it wasn't supposed to be there.

Okay, After looking at the SMB Easter Eggs page I started to know what's going on.
I get your meanging, and thanks for explaining!

Basically, hidden little secrets. I've never liked having to put level passwords on the site, and the "achievements" and game tips bits were fun to write for one or two games, but I really don't want to have to write them ALL up.
I'm a bit rusty on the secret message. It's a bit complicated, but good Metroid sites usually have something more detailed on how to get it.

In Metroid Fusion, Samus calls the computer Adam because that was a name of her old general who used to call her "lady" but in acourteus way...something like that. I'm PRETTY sure it wasn't named after the short-lived computer by the now-defunct Coleco.

I'm 100% sure it wasn't

They had Donkey Kong! And yes, I know it wasn't the Coleco computer.

I've seen this site before. They're mostly glitches, but some of them are fun to do. I think I have all the genuine Easter Eggs off there already.

Heh.... He's gotta bet on there for 30 dollars if you send him a video of Luigi in mario 64............ I wonder if he got any videos of the DS version, and if he paid up.

Luigi is not in Super Mario 64.... the DS at the end of the name of SM64DS saves him from having to pay up.
