You can tell I'm the awesome at Picross, when I'm the first person to notice that there's a really hard category of Mario puzzles that only becomes available when you beat all 150 puzzles in Normal Mode.
You do realise there's another 150 puzzles in hard mode, and probably something at the end of that right? Why won't this game let me go!? I have been playing it for weeks on end!!
Still, the Mario overworld remix is kinda funky.

Addendum:
I have finished all 15 puzzles in this Extra section, and can confirm there are 11 puzzles based on sprites from Super Mario Bros. and Super Mario Bros. 3, and the last four are Link, Samus, Ice Climber and Balloon Fight.
Who knows what mysteries await at the end of Free Mode!!

Ah, just as I thought, there will be characters in it.
Good luck on your work! I doubt if any of us have this game, though.
(I'll probably skip this game. Picross on DS doesn't look as comfortable as on SFC for me.)

You can actually set the controls to be exactly the same as the SNES controls. That's what I've done. It is easier for us veterans ;D

You should never need to guess! Although three times I have had to use the "hints" to finish the pic. I suspect they don't always follow the rules of Picross!

So, yeah, Free Mode Extra stuff.
All the puzzles are based on Nintendo systems.
11-A) Game & Watch 11-B) Famicom 11-C) NES 11-D) Game Boy 11-E) Super Famicom 11-F) SNES 11-G) Virtual Boy 11-H) Game Boy Color 11-I) Nintendo 64 11-J) Game Boy Advance 11-K) GameCube 11-L) GB Advance SP 11-M) Nintendo DS 11-N) Game Boy Micro I haven't finished 11-O yet, but it looks like it's the Wii.
And the music that plays is a remix of Super Mario Bros. underground theme.
You can tell I'm the awesome at Picross, when I'm the first person to notice that there's an actually not-that-hard category of Nintendo system puzzles that only becomes available when you beat all 150 puzzles in Free Mode.
Edit: I just beat 11-O, it's actually the Nintendo DS Lite.

Of course it was. Don't you know your history? That whole list is chronological, and from a certain perspective: complete.
Now, can you peer into the future and tell us what 11-Q is?

I'd guess the next is a DS Lite, then a Wii.

There are no more, 11-O is the last one. Of course it was. Don't you know your history? That whole list is chronological, and from a certain perspective: complete. Well, yeah. But it was the last puzzle, and they did skip the Game Boy Pocket... Besides, I only had, like, two lines done when I made that guess. Now, can you peer into the future and tell us what 11-Q is? The DreamCube 360, obviously.
