In Tomato Adventure, the victory theme resembles Super Mario RPG's victory theme. What I mean is that both of these are songs that are played after you win small battles in both RPGs.
In Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga, there is some crab-looking creature with a Christmas Tree on top of it. This creature came from the sunken ship place in Tomato Adventure as an enemy.
A couple of Tomato Adventure soundtracks were found hidden in Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga after people dumped its entire track list into GSF files. Their quality is similar to the sound of Game Boy Color music, which probably means that they are the tracks used in the Game Boy Color prototype of Tomato Adventure, Gimmick Land. They were perhaps also used in Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga for testing its audio.
Huge necrobump, but I haven't seen this cameo mentioned on the site. It's a rather minor one but comes in the game rather lately.
When you get outside Hanzou Lab 6 (links Soy City with Balsami Dome; it's the bottom left one on the map) it's a small dump site with several objects partially buried in the ground. Two of these are Game Boy Colors (well they look like Game Boy Colors but they have buttons like this "+---"), the top left one is a red Game Boy Color and the bottom right is a purple one. They both have smashed screens.
I only have played through a real Tomato Adventure cartridge so unfortunately can't get any good screenshots at the moment.
Shoddy 3DS Camera placeholder screenshot:
Also, I think Parrothead mentioned this somewhere else on the Internet. The overworld map in Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga is reminiscent of the one in Tomato Adventure (with Bowser's Castle in the centre replacing the Gimmick Palace).
edit 1: Also, I don't know what to make of this but one of the in-game sound effects (e.g. when one of the Hanzou brothers makes you a new Gimmick) sounds really similar to one of the horrible static noises when you pull a GBA cartridge out of the console when the game is still running. I manually pulled out Tomato Adventure but the sounds don't match, and since Koto Battle was GBC I don't know what to make of it, though maybe I should try it with Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga later <

Nester the Lark: The Japanese voice actor for Adol (of the Ys series), Yuji Kaji, will be making an appearance at Konami's TGS presentation to "represent the fans." In the past, Konami has showcased Falcom's games at TGS. I wonder if there will be more to it...

Nester the Lark: I'm reluctant to do spoiler discussions because if people are playing the game, they wouldn't want spoilers, and if they're not playing the game, they wouldn't be interested anyway.

nocturnal YL: I'm… not sure if I'll read your spoiler discussions. I don't think I'll get the chance to play this, but at the same time, I'm not entirely sure I won't, either.

nocturnal YL: I have yet another pile of games waiting to be played. Due to various circumstances (I'm busy at work, this month's weekends are filled with family events, and Project DIVA Mega Mix just got new DLC), I'm not able to play them yet.

nocturnal YL: I'm currently at 34 Switch games played. I've been thinking about my Switch review videos and I'll make another at 36 or 40 games. Leaning towards 36.

nocturnal YL: I actually wanted to remake the older ones as well. I didn't notice that the 2nd video had volume issues in the audio until I have my current PC.

Nester the Lark: If you're thinking of playing Xenoblade Chronicles 3, then definitely *don't* read the late-game spoilers I posted.

Shrikeswind: So I assume everyone here's heard the news but for those who haven't, Queen Elizabeth died today.

Shrikeswind: I learned on the way home from work today - I stopped in at a McDonalds for lunch, was checking the news in line, and...well, there it was.

Nester the Lark: I'm not British, but there's never not been a Queen of England during my lifetime (and indeed, most of a lifetime before that), so even though I knew it had to happen eventually, it still feels a little weird.

Nester the Lark: I guess there is still the "Queen Consort," but I'm talking about how there's a King now.

Nester the Lark: The English lip sync in Xenoblade Chronicles 3 has spoiled me. I was hoping Fire Emblem: Engage would have it, too, but comparing the English and Japanese trailers, it doesn't seem to be the case.

Nester the Lark: Wondering if I should create a thread for Fire Emblem: Engage, or just talk about it in the general Fire Emblem thread...

Nester the Lark: Nintendo has had a good rhythm with their releases. When I'm tired of Xenoblade, they release a new Fire Emblem. When I'm tired of Fire Emblem, they release a new Xenoblade. When I'm tired of both, they release a new Zelda.

nocturnal YL: Super Mario Galaxy 2 is a relatively new game in terms of TAS, so it usually doesn't look as impressive as Super Mario 64. But sometimes we get stuff like this: Cosmic Cove Green Star 1 in 20.58s
