I noticed that you forgot these, FryGuy64: - The player's progress is shown in percentage on the menu screen in this game, and the only way to reach 100% is to rescue Chao (one of the Yuyuki characters) from a certain mini-boss.
AND
- The picture shown on the sound test screen is a parody of a scene in Yuyuki.

But I thought you had to save Chu Chu from Kirby 3?

But I thought you had to save Chu Chu from Kirby 3? Both Kirby's Dream Land 2 and Kirby's Dream Land 3 both have Yuyuki references.

Please provide further details and/or screenshots. These are fairly vague.

But I thought you had to save Chu Chu from Kirby 3? I've read that the Japanese version of Kirby's Dream Land 2 had a different character instead of Gooey/ Blob/ Chu Chu in the sack. The Kirbypedia on Rainbow Resort lists it as Chao. I know that isn't much tho I think the edits have to get past editors there.

I shall investigate this. But I will need help with Yuu Yuu Ki. This sounds like it could be a case of mistaken identity.

I remember it being Gooey OR ChuChu. It changed. But regardless, you had to have an animal partner and then get the same one from a miniboss. Rather than getting two Ricks or whatever, you get Gooey! Except that one time I got, what I thought was, ChuChu

Gooey restores your health if you get him. Finding ChuChu is required for getting 100% completion in addition to all the Rainbow Drops, and it's pretty hard to do.

I found out about this cameo appearance when the Yuyuki article was translated. If you can't find any Yuyuki references in Kirby's Dream Land 2, then they probably can only be done in the Japanese version of Kirby's Dream Land 2.
*sigh* I wish that several translators would translate all of the text-based adventure titles for the Famicom Disk System, as well as the ones for the Super Famicom (Super NES outside of Japan), but I'm afraid that most translators prefer to translate video games that have many good reviews and are well-known.

You do know that even the Japanese Wikipedia can be wrong too, right?
It seems unlikely. I'll check the Japanese KDL2... but somehow I doubt it.
