In Pokémon Gold, Silver, and Crystal the teacher of a Pokémon school who speaks in poor English asks the player "Want to be a winner is you?". The line "A Winner Is You." is also said in Pokémon Diamond and Pearl by a clown that gives you the coin case. This is from the NES game Pro Wrestling.

Nice connection... I'd doubt about the G/S/C quote alone, but if it also appears in D/P, I guess this one counts.
The teacher's name is "Earl" for future reference.

Haha! I love the fact this classic piece of Engrish has come back around and Nintendo makes full use of it.
I'm going to have to get a screen of that. Anyone know of any more "A Winner is You" appearances? I'm sure I've seen one in a Paper Mario game or something.

Yes, that does sound like something Paper Mario would do. I don't remember it in the N64 version though...but then again, I never really talked to anyone.
