In case you didn't know, Rockstar revealed their first console Nintendo game earlier in the week - Manhunt 2, the sequel to one of the more controversial and violent games ever released. Color me surprised. It's nice to see Rockstar hopping over to the Wii - maybe Table Tennis will follow? Many are hopeful that GTA will also cross over...
I consider this a good sign that Nintendo's doing something right. If they are pulling former PS2/Xbox exclusive 3rd parties into their camp with the Wii, good things are bound to happen.
Any thoughts about this?

Yes - the Wii remote lends itself perfectly to games that involve gruesome bludgeoning. That's the ONLY reason we're getting it, I guarantee

Well, if it has at least decent sales, enough to show potential for future games of this type, then it's only a matter of time before GTA hits the Wii in some form. On the other hand, from what I've heard, the original Manhunt wasn't that good of a game to begin with. But I'll be very interested to see how this, and EA's The Godfather: Backhand Edition, fare on the console.
Personally, it's just not my cup of tea. I'm more a Resident Evil guy.

$10 says the Wii gets a Wii-enhanced San Andreas Stories along with the PSP version (and a later PS2 version) when PS3 and X360 get GTA4. This news only enhances my confidence of that happening.

I can see the box now. Beat Hookers, shoot cops, and run over pedestrians with the Wiimote! That would definitely put a massive hole in the idea that Nintendo only has 'kiddy games' appear on its consoles. As Carl ( the cog in CBFD) would say - fanf***ingtastic.

Just thought I'd bump this post due to some breaking news: BBC: Censors ban 'brutal' video gameBasically, the BBFC, who rates all videogames, has refused to give Manhunt 2 a rating, which means it will be illegal to sell the game in the UK. Rockstar can appeal this decision in the next 6 weeks, which I expect they will, but I expect the UK will end up with a "toned down" version.

And Australia refused classification for the first one, so is likely to for this one.
So basically, no uncensored PAL version by the looks of it.

And the ESRB is rating it AO! Hooray for Nintendo's first AO title?

So basically, no uncensored PAL version by the looks of it. Hey now, Australia and the UK aren't the only PAL regions! I can't remember violent video games ever being much of an issue here in the Netherlands, so I guess I'll be able to simply walk into the store and buy the game. Y'know, if it weren't for me not being 18 yet. Our eastern neighbours, however... Germany seems to be pretty damn strict when it comes to violence in video games.

Oh, they just have to make it Mii compatible and then the rating will go down because miis are cute. Other than that I have really have nothing to say.
