Since the 3PS is on hiatus, (it'll be back soon) I've decided to do a little evaluation. Hence, here's a little survey I hope you all take concerning certain elements. It's multiple choice, but feel free to add any specific, extra comments as you see fit.

1. Which written style do you prefer for the 3PS?
A. I like a more humorous, gimmicky style.
B. I prefer a more straightforward, sober style.

2. What length do you prefer for the write-ups?
A. Brief and to-the-point is better--like the way it is now.
B. I would like to see a bit more detail on gameplay, features, story, etc.

3. How often do you like to see features for Virtual Console games?
A. Rarely. I think the 3PS should focus almost entirely on Wii and DS games.
B. Occasionally, but more emphasis should be placed on Wii and DS games.
C. Frequently. VC games should be featured at least as much as Wii and DS games.

4. Which type of VC games would you prefer to see covered?
A. I prefer to read about well-known classics.
B. I would like to see an emphasis on good games that aren't as well recognized.

5. How much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck would chuck wood?
A. A little.
B. A lot.
C. He'd cut a quart off a cut of conifer if you gave him a quarter for every quart he cut.

I'm not going to necessarily pick the answers you provided. Remember that this is simply my opinion, and despite me (supposedly) maintaining the site, that doesn't mean you have to follow my every word to keep me happy. 3PS is your baby, after all.

1. Which written style do you prefer for the 3PS?
I'll be honest here - sometimes the gimmick gets in the way of meaty content. I'm glad that the writing is so distinguished from the style of the rest of NinDB, but in SOME 3PS reviews (not all) the writing is a little too informal and too lacking in detail.
So a bit of both, really.

2. What length do you prefer for the write-ups?
B... I'd much prefer more information on the game itself. The idea is to sell the idea of third party gaming to the readers, and part of that is to be enthusiastic about the game's unique features that can't be found in a Nintendo game.

3. How often do you like to see features for Virtual Console games?
I am perfectly happy with the VC/Wii/DS balance. DS and VC are going to be more prominent than Wii right now, as the Wii is lacking software.

4. Which type of VC games would you prefer to see covered?
Both well-known and obscure. No reason they can't live in harmony. Remember, a lot of readers have probably never played the originals of series that are still around today, so what us game nuts think of as well-known are still obscure to the population at large.

5. How much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck would chuck wood?
A. A little (they don't have the upper body strength)

I appreciate the responses I've gotten from everyone so far. Fry, thanks for your detailed response.

I just want to say, don't worry about the 3PS going through any major changes. I wanted to know what you guys thought about certain aspects, but the pendulum isn't going to swing too far in any one direction. Just because a lot of you picked 'A' on question 1 doesn't mean every write-up from now on is going to turn into a super-gimmicky X-Play skit. (Although, I was worried that they were getting there. ) When I asked if you guys prefer well-known or obscure VC games, it doesn't mean I intend to feature only one type and not the other.

I just wanted to know the general consensus for certain questions that I have to answer when I pick games and write about them. That's why I made specific multiple choices. But all comments are welcome.
