I'm a big fan of the Tony Hawk series, and I've been waiting for a new game since Project 8, and THIS made me scream with joy so loud, it woke up the clerk in the residence's front desk! Tony Hawk's Proving GroundI sure as wizzleing hell hope this comes out on the Wii! If not, I'll scream AGAIN, but with anger! ;D ;D ;D

I downloaded the Xbox 360 demo the other day... It was nice, but I didn't like it as much as the demo of skate. by EA. I thought the gameplay and graphics of the latter were much better.

Graphics aren't much as long as the game is good. And I'm a big fan of the series, which is why I kinda freaked out.

Eh, I personally stopped caring about the Tony Hawk games after Pro Skater 3. I didn't think it was as good as 2.
Then I went back and played Underground and was bored out of my mind.
I tried Skate recently on my friends 360 and thought it was pretty good, but it's not a Tony Hawk game so...yeah, whatever.
Maybe I'll try this new game.

I liked Underground quite a bit, but mainly because of the custom character perspective. I hated THUG2, though...nowhere near as fun to me.

I really enjoyed THPS3 through THUG2; PS3 and PS4 were great skating games in their own right, and then the THUGs introduced the great create-a-skater sections. (I seriously love the default voices for the male and female skaters--my male create-a-skater from THPS3, Minty, has sort of evolved into his own character in my fictional works, using the default male skater's "voice.") Granted, THUG1 was more about skating while THUG2 was just a playable version of Viva La Bam, but I still thought THUG2 was fun despite the drastic difference in attitude.
THAW was a pretty big disappointment for me, though. With a limited create-a-skater function (no female skaters in storymode? Bullhonkey) and "Sandbox Diarrhea," the game already had a lot of issues. Factor in the fact that there were more functions in the game than there were buttons to use comfortably on the GC and XBox controllers and the music being worse than usual, I walked away from THAW feeling kinda burned.
I tried THP8 a little bit. Not much, but I didn't really care for what I'd seen. Still, I can't really judge--I'm just nervous to pick it up after THAW bombed so bad. A friend of mine who shares similar opinions on the series that I do said that THP8 was kind of a letdown, and she's played through the whole thing. Says there's even LESS functionality in the create-a-skater options; now you can't even make a female skater for any mode, and the soundtrack is even more gangsta rap and emo rock. Euch.
Anyway, about THPG, I am allured by the different career modes you can undertake...but I'll be annoyed if I'm limited to male create-a-skaters again. One of the things that I loved about THUG and THUG2 was that, essentially, you could be this really active and strong-willed girl; female characters with those kinds of character traits are a real creative turn-on for me, even if I have to make up most of the personality with my imagination. Also, I have no more confidence in Neversoft's ability to choose music. I swear they're just gonna give up one of these days and use nothing but 50 Cent and Good Charlotte for one of these upcoming TH games.
Right now, I'm seriously more looking forward to SKATE. I just wish I had a chance to play the demo before it comes out, cause renting games from Blockbuster fucking kills my wallet...$8.50 for a five day rental? Shit, I might as well buy the damn thing.
